January 2025

Medical Technology, Health Information and Research Directorate, Ministry of Health, Jerusalem, Israel.

Uganda's only radiotherapy center is a very busy facility treating about 210 patients daily on three linear accelerators making it sometimes hard to have machine time for pretreatment QAs. This study was aimed at validating an independent calculation software, ClearCalc (ICS) for second checks of the treatment planning system (TPS) calculations. The validation of ICS started with simple phantom test plans consisting of square, irregular, open and wedged fields designed in the TPS and measured in phantoms.

Treatment options for recurrent high-risk non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (HR NMIBC) and muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) are limited, highlighting a need for clinically effective, accessible, and better-tolerated alternatives. In this review we examine the clinical development program of TAR-200, a novel targeted releasing system designed to provide sustained intravesical delivery of gemcitabine to address the needs of patients with NMIBC and of those with MIBC. We describe the concept and design of TAR-200 and the clinical development of this gemcitabine intravesical system in the SunRISe portfolio of studies.

Center for Orphan Drug Research, Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, United States. Electronic address:

Gaucher disease (GD) is a rare lysosomal disorder characterized by the accumulation of glycosphingolipids in macrophages resulting from glucocerebrosidase (GCase) deficiency. The accumulation of toxic substrates, which causes the hallmark symptoms of GD, is dependent on the extent of enzyme dysfunction. Accordingly, three distinct subtypes have been recognized, with type 1 GD (GD1) as the common and milder form, while types 2 (GD2) and 3 (GD3) are categorized as neuronopathic and severe.

Background And Objective: To determine whether there is disproportionate reporting of hepatobiliary disorders in the United States (US) FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) for individuals prescribed ketamine or esketamine.

Design: We identified Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA) terms in the FAERS related to hepatobiliary disorders.

Main Measures: Formulations of ketamine and esketamine were evaluated for the proportionality of reporting for each hepatobiliary disorder parameter using the reporting odds ratio (ROR).

To evaluate the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT in preoperative TNN staging and postoperative recurrence and metastasis of colon carcinoma, and to provide evidence for the reliability of CT in the diagnosis of colon carcinoma METHODS: 89 patients with colon carcinoma diagnosed pathologically in our hospital from July 2020 to April 2023 were selected retrospectively. The preoperative TNN staging and postoperative recurrence and metastasis were monitored by 64 row 128 layer spiral CT. The diagnostic coincidence rate, TNM staging coincidence rate and postoperative recurrent TNM staging accuracy were evaluated according to the pathological diagnosis RESULTS: The diagnostic coincidence rate of multi-slice spiral CT was 97.
