Published: March 2013

Attenuation coefficient measurements for the propagation of bandedge luminescence are made on individual ZnO nanowires by combining the localized excitation capability of a scanning electron microscope (SEM) with near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM) to record the distribution and intensity of wave-guided emission. Measurements were made for individual nanostructures with triangular cross-sections ranging in diameter from 680 to 2300 nm. The effective attenuation coefficient shows an inverse dependence on nanowire diameter (d(-1)), indicating scattering losses due to non-ideal waveguiding behavior.

Department of Radiology, Lanzhou University Second Hospital, Lanzhou, China; Second Clinical School, Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China; Key Laboratory of Medical Imaging of Gansu Province, Lanzhou, China; Gansu International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Base of Medical Imaging Artificial Intelligence, Lanzhou, China. Electronic address:

Aim: To explore the relationship between different plaque types and pericoronary adipose tissue (PCAT) volume and attenuation values in patients with stable coronary artery disease (CAD) based on coronary computed tomographic angiography (CCTA).

Materials And Methods: Three hundred twenty one patients with stable CAD who underwent CCTA from May 2022 to March 2023 were enrolled. Using semi-automatic software, PCAT volumes and CT attenuation values were measured around the plaque and in the segment and proximal coronary artery where the plaque was located.

Quantifying aortic valve calcification is critical for assessing the severity of aortic stenosis, predicting cardiovascular risk, and guiding treatment decisions. This study evaluated the feasibility of a deep learning-based automatic quantification of aortic valve calcification using contrast-enhanced coronary CT angiography and compared the results with manual calcium scoring. A retrospective analysis of 177 patients undergoing aortic stenosis evaluation was conducted, divided into a development set (n = 97) and an internal validation set (n = 80).

Comparative electromagnetic shielding performance of TiCT-PVA composites in various structural forms: compact films, hydrogels, and aerogels.

School of Advanced Materials Science and Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University, Seobu-ro 2066, Jangan-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, 16419, Republic of Korea.

The structural design of light-weight MXene-polymer composites has attracted significant interest for enhancing both electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance and mechanical strength, which are critical for practical applications. However, a systematic understanding of how various structural configurations of MXene composites affect EMI shielding is lacking. In this study, light-weight TiCT-PVA composites were fabricated in three structural forms, hydrogel, aerogel, and compact film, while varying the TiCT areal density (14 to 20 mg cm) to elucidate the role of structural design in X-band EMI shielding and mechanical properties.

Background: this investigation aimed to assess the correlation between the triglyceride glucose (TyG) index and its related indicators, as well as the ratio of triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-c), with hepatic steatosis and liver fibrosis among middle-aged and elderly participants.

Methods: based on data from the 2017-2020 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the study included adults of ages 40 years and older in the United States. To explore the correlation between TyG and its related indicators, as well as TG/HDL-c with hepatic steatosis and liver fibrosis, multiple regression models were employed.

Background: We aimed to develop and validate an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model that leverages CCTA and optical coherence tomography (OCT) images for automated analysis of plaque characteristics and coronary function.

Methods: A total of 100 patients who underwent invasive coronary angiography, OCT, and CCTA before discharge were included in this study. The data were randomly divided into a training set (80 %) and a test set (20 %).
