Background: Computational support for high-content screening (HCS) is of paramount importance at several stages of the process: from the selection of compounds, to the image and data analysis all the way to hit identification and analysis of mechanisms of action.

Method: Here, we describe computational approaches to improve the benefit gained from HCS, such as compound selection, image analysis and algorithms to further process and explore HCS data. We describe the current challenges in these areas and state our expectations for the field.

Conclusion: At present there are no standard approaches for correction, normalization, analysis or visualization of HCS data. Thus, the information-rich data sets provided by HCS are exploited to only a limited extent. To overcome this shortcoming, a thorough comparison and evaluation of different tools is needed.

The mineral content, vitamin C, and chlorogenic acid were determined in 44 genotypes of Andean potatoes reintroduced in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, Jujuy, Argentina. This initiative aims to promote biodiversity and support local producers by determining the nutritional and functional properties of these genotypes. The genotypes from a collection in the Germplasm Bank of INTA Balcarce, were planted in sandy clay loam soils and harvested manually.

Tree peony seeds, traditionally used for edible oil production, are rich in α-linolenic acid (ALA). However, little attention is paid to their development as a healthcare food due to their bitter and astringent taste. The aim of this study was to optimize the debittering process of peony seeds on the basis of maintaining nutritional value and to identify the compounds that cause the taste of bitterness.

Introduction: L. has been known as "hogweed" and used for inflammatory diseases, including fever, enteritis, and bronchitis, for many years worldwide. The genus is also prominently recognized for its high content of coumarins, which are considered a significant group of natural compounds known for their noteworthy anti-inflammatory properties.

Background: Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney disease and contributes to 38% of kidney failure requiring dialysis. A gap in detection and management of type 2 diabetes (T2D) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) exists in primary care. Community pharmacists are positioned to support those not able to access kidney care through traditional pathways.

Small interfering RNAs (siRNAs) have been successfully used as therapeutics to silence disease-causing genes when conjugated to ligands or formulated in lipid nanoparticles to target relevant cell types for efficacy while sparing other cells for safety. To support the development of new methods for delivery of siRNA therapeutics, we developed and characterized a panel of antibodies generated against chemically modified nucleotides used in therapeutic siRNA molecules, identifying a monoclonal antibody that detects a broad range of siRNA representing distinct sequences and modification patterns. By integrating this anti-siRNA antibody with additional reagents, we created a multiplex siRNA immunoassay that simultaneously quantifies siRNA uptake, trafficking, and silencing activity.
