Published: March 2013

Very-late stent thrombosis is a rare complication. Several factors related to the patient, procedure, and premature discontinuation of antiplatelet therapy are known to contribute to its occurrence. This report describes the case of a 40-year-old patient with simultaneous two-vessel stent thrombosis (left anterior descending and right coronary arteries) 31 months after everolimus-eluting stent implantation.

Coronary artery disease remains a significant global health issue and is a leading cause of mortality. Dual antiplatelet therapy, including clopidogrel, is essential for preventing stent thrombosis after coronary artery stenting. This study assessed the comparative efficacy and safety of generic versus brand-name clopidogrel in a large Taiwanese cohort.

Purpose: To evaluate longer term outcomes of the Zilver Vena Venous Stent in patients undergoing venous stenting.

Materials And Methods: Patients with iliofemoral obstructive venous disease and treated with venous stents were retrospectively enrolled in a physician-led real-world data collection effort. Results were analyzed by etiologies: post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS), non-thrombotic iliac vein lesion (NIVL), and iliocaval acute deep vein thrombosis (aDVT).

Background: Iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS) impedes venous blood return from the lower extremities due to iliac vein compression, manifesting as leg swelling, varicose veins, and thrombosis. These symptoms significantly degrade quality of life. Although iliac vein stenting provides symptomatic relief, the recovery process is protracted and fraught with challenges such as in-stent restenosis and psychological distress.

Aims: There were no previous studies comparing aspirin versus P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy following short dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Methods And Results: We conducted a prespecified subgroup analysis based on complex PCI in the 1-year results of the STOPDAPT-3 trial, which randomly compared 1-month DAPT followed by aspirin monotherapy (aspirin group) to 1-month prasugrel monotherapy followed by clopidogrel monotherapy (clopidogrel group). The main analysis in the present study was the 30-day landmark analysis.
