Aphid parasitoids of the subfamily Aphidiinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) of northeastern Iran were studied in this paper. A total of 29 species are keyed and illustrated with line drawings. The aphidiines presented in this work have been reared from 42 aphid host taxa occurring on 49 plant taxa from a total of 33 sampling sites. Sixty-six aphidiine-aphid-plant associations are presented. Trioxys metacarpalis sp. nov. from Chaitaphis tenuicaudata Nevsky (Hemiptera: Aphididae) on Kochia scoparia, is described. The species diversity based on the comparative faunistic analysis is discussed.

Fruit flies (Diptera: Tephritidae) are significant pests of fruit and vegetable crops worldwide. Despite their importance, some regions in South America remain under-researched regarding the fruit fly species that damage host plants and the parasitoids that provide their natural control. In this study, we investigated the interactions among host plants, fruit flies, and their larval parasitoids along two altitudinal gradients in Oxapampa, Pasco, a tropical Andean forest in Peru.

Article Synopsis
  • - An annotated checklist details 426 European Dacnusini species and 16 species from the Dapsilarthra genus group within the Alysiini (Hymenoptera: Braconidae, Alysiinae), including synonymy and classifications.
  • - The checklist presents insights like intrageneric relationships, references to species in past major revisions, host range hypotheses based on rearing evidence, and DNA barcode availability for some species.
  • - A new synonym, Chorebus luzulae Griffiths syn. nov., is established under Chorebus aphantus Marshall, while the classification of the genus Mesocrina and the inclusion of Grandia and Lodbrokia in Dacnusini remains unclear.
