The fabrication concept for a low-cost sensor device using reduced graphene oxide (rGO) as the sensing material on a porous paper substrate is presented. The sensors were characterized using conductivity and capacitance measurements, atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The effects of different reducing agents, graphene oxide (GO) flake size and film thickness were studied. The sensor was sensitive to NO2, and devices based on a thin (10-nm) hydrazine-reduced GO layer had the best sensitivity, reaching a 70% reduction in resistance after 10 min of exposure to 10 ppm NO2. The sensitivity was high enough for the detection of sub-parts per million levels of NO2. Desorption of gas molecules, i.e. the recovery of the sensor, could be accelerated by UV irradiation. The structure and preparation of the sensor are simple and up-scalable, allowing their fabrication in bulk quantities, and the fabrication concept can be applied to other materials, too.

Direct regeneration of spent lithium-ion batteries offers economic benefits and a reduced CO2 footprint. Surface prelithiation, particularly through the molten salt method, is critical in enhancing spent cathode repair during high-temperature annealing. However, the sluggish Li+ transport kinetics, which relies on thermally driven processes in the traditional molten salt methods, limit the prelithiation efficiency and regeneration of spent cathodes.

The production of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) through two-electron oxygen reduction reaction (2e- ORR) has emerged as a more environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional anthraquinone method. Although oxidized carbon catalysts have intensive developed due to their high selectivity and activity, the yield and conversion rate of H2O2 under high overpotential still limited. The produced H2O2 was rapidly consumed by the increased intensity of H2O2 reduction, which could ascribe to decomposition of peroxide radicals under high voltage in the carbon catalyst.

The effect of dispersing multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) in the matrix on the low-velocity impact resistance and post-impact residual tensile strength of the carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite laminates has been experimentally analyzed in this study. The composite specimens with the matrix reinforced by different nanoparticle types and various nanoparticle concentrations (0.1, 0.

The synergistic effect of CNT and three-dimensional N-doped graphene foam (3DNG) on improving corrosion resistance of zinc-reinforced epoxy (ZRE) composite coatings was studied in this work. Although CNT itself was demonstrated to be effective to promote the anti-corrosion performance of the ZRE coating, the incorporation of additional 3DNG leads to further enhancement of its corrosion resistance under the synergistic effect of the hybrid carbon nanofillers with different dimensions. Both the content of the carbonaceous fillers and the ratio between them affected the performance of the coating.
