A 36-year-old woman with Graves' disease underwent thyroid ablation with oral I (20 mCi) following poor control of hyperthyroidism with carbimazole. Three days later, she presented to the emergency department with a choking sensation, shortness of breath, dysphagia, neck discomfort, and swelling. The prevertebral soft tissue was grossly thickened on the lateral neck radiograph. An urgent contrast-enhanced CT neck revealed severe neck edema and thyroiditis. TSH and free T4 levels were normal, and the neck swelling gradually resolved with corticosteroids. Acute neck edema is an infrequent complication of I ablation, and cross-sectional imaging is useful to exclude airway compromise or infection.

Relapsing epiglottitis has rarely been reported, and its etiology is not well established. A 44-year-old previously healthy Japanese man presented with a quickly progressing choking sensation. He had been experiencing refractory and relapsing laryngeal edema and probably acute epiglottitis (three episodes within 2 weeks), with rash and elevated pancreatic amylase.

Background: Quantifying head and neck lymphedema and fibrosis (HN-LEF) is crucial in the investigation and management of treatment sequelae in head and neck cancer (HNC).
Methods: The T1- and T2-weighted MRI signal intensity (SI) was examined in relation to HN-LEF categories per physical/tactile examination (No-LEF, A-B = edema, C = edema + fibrosis, D = fibrosis), and MRI structural volumes were examined in relation to a novel 10-point HN-LEF score in the intraoral and submental regions.
Results: We identified differences in ranks among HN-LEF categories in relation to the MRI SI (A-B and C are higher than D and No-LEF for T2 SI, and A-B is the highest for T1).

Three monoclonal antibodies directed against specific forms of the amyloid-β (Aβ) peptide have been granted accelerated or traditional approval by the FDA as treatments for Alzheimer disease, representing the first step towards bringing disease-modifying treatments for this disease into clinical practice. Here, we review the detection, underlying pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical implications of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), the most impactful adverse effect of anti-Aβ immunotherapy. ARIA appears as regions of oedema or effusions (ARIA-E) in brain parenchyma or sulci or as haemorrhagic lesions (ARIA-H) in the form of cerebral microbleeds, convexity subarachnoid haemorrhage, cortical superficial siderosis or intracerebral haemorrhage.

Background: Poikiloderma of Civatte is a benign skin condition characterized by reticulate erythema and hyperpigmentation in sun-exposed areas, predominantly on the neck, cheeks, and chest. Chronic UV exposure leads to vascular proliferation and red cell extravasation resulting in hemosiderin and melanin deposition. While many light-based modalities have been utilized to treat the disorder, the significant vascularity makes it ideally suited for treatment with vascular lasers.

Introduction: Castleman disease (CD) refers to a heterogeneous group of lymphoproliferative disorders, which rarely involves the larynx. Our goal in this study is to elucidate the clinical presentation, diagnostic techniques, and treatment methods of laryngeal CD through a scoping review and the addition of a new case.
Methods: Due to limited existing literature, we employed a mixed methodology for review.
