We report on experimental realization of optical injection locking of a singly resonant continuous-wave optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on a thermally induced waveguide in a magnesium-oxide doped periodically poled lithium niobate. An external cavity diode laser is used to control the frequency of the resonant signal output of the OPO at 795 nm. The key to successful injection locking was the improvement of the OPO spatial modes by a special operating condition with a thermally induced waveguide. The phase coherence of injection locking is confirmed by recording a high-contrast interference fringe between the injection laser and the OPO output. High-resolution measurement of the frequency spectrum of the nonresonant idler output by the delayed self-heterodyne technique shows that the spectral linewidth of the OPO is reduced from 4.5 to 0.4 MHz by injection locking. The full locking range is assumed to be less than 1.7 MHz.

This paper reports an ultra-narrow-linewidth self-injection locked semiconductor laser, which is realized through optical feedback from a high-Q (258 million) Fabry-Perot (FP) cavity constructed with three mirrors, generating an output power of 12 mW. Employing a delay self-heterodyne method based on a signal source analyzer, the phase noise of the laser is -129 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset frequency, with an intrinsic linewidth of 3 mHz.

Objective: A Leonis Mova (LM; SB Kawasumi, Kanagawa, Japan), one of the steerable microcatheters, has a remote-controlled flexible catheter tip manipulated with a dial in the hand grip, which enables operators to overcome complicated branching in endovascular surgeries. We report a case of a pituitary tumor in which the LM worked effectively as a distal access catheter (DAC) in tumor embolization.
Case Presentation: A female patient in her 70s complained of bitemporal hemianopsia, and an MRI revealed a pituitary tumor that appeared hypervascular.
We predict the existence of a novel type of temporal localized structure in injected Kerr-Gires-Tournois interferometers (KGTI). These bright pulses exist in the normal dispersion regime, yet they do not correspond to the usual scenario of domain wall locking that induces complex shape multistability, weak stability, and a reduced domain of existence. The new states are observed beyond the mean-field limit and out of the bistable region.
