Background: Polygoni Multiflori Radix, He-Shou-Wu in Chinese, is a widely used traditional Chinese medicine. Clinically, water decoction is the major application form of He-Shou-Wu. Therefore, simultaneous determination of bioactive compounds in water extract is very important for its quality control.

Results: A pressurized liquid extraction and short-end injection micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) were first developed for simultaneous determination of seven hydrophilic bioactive compounds in water extract of He-Shou-Wu. The influence of parameters, such as pH, concentration of phosphate, SDS and HP-β-CD, capillary temperature and applied voltage, on the analysis were carefully investigated. Optimum separation was obtained within 14 min by using 50 mM phosphate buffer containing 90 mM SDS and 2% (m/v) HP-β-CD (pH 2.5) at 15 kV and 20°C. All calibration curves showed good linearity (R2>0.9978) within test ranges. The overall LOD and LOQ were lower than 2.0 μg/mL and 5.5 μg/mL, respectively. The RSDs for intra- and inter-day of seven analytes were less than 3.2% and 4.6%, and the recoveries were 97.0%-104.2%.

Conclusion: The validated method was successfully applied to the analysis of He-Shou-Wu samples, which is helpful for its quality control.

Objectives: The aim of the current study was to determine the levels of stress, resilience and the sense of self-efficacy, as well as the influence of resilience and the sense of self-efficacy in shaping stress levels, in a sample of women from various countries of origin.

Methods: The study was carried out on a sample of Ukrainian (N = 82), Polish (N = 102), Slovak (N = 79), and Romanian (N = 42) women using the Sense of Stress Questionnaire, the General Self-Efficacy Scale and the Brief Resilience Scale.

Results: Highest total stress levels were found among Ukrainian women, while the lowest were found among Polish women.

Itching tends to worsen at night in patients with itchy skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis. Unconscious scratching during sleep can exacerbate symptoms, cause sleep disturbances, or reduce quality of life. Therefore, evaluating nocturnal scratching behaviour is important for better patient care.

Background: Microsatellites are highly polymorphic repeat sequences ubiquitously interspersed throughout almost all genomes which are widely used as powerful molecular markers in diverse fields. Microsatellite expansions play pivotal roles in gene expression regulation and are implicated in various neurological diseases and cancers. Although much effort has been devoted to developing efficient tools for microsatellite identification, there is still a lack of a powerful tool for large-scale microsatellite analysis.

The composition of the metal-polymer friction pair is carefully considered for interacting with water and hydrogen, ensuring the metals electrode process potential remains below waters in a neutral medium. Simultaneously, adherence to defined chemical composition ratios for the metal-polymer materials is crucial. This analysis is conducted under conditions of thermal stabilization, characterized by a minimal temperature gradient across the rim thickness within an equivalent thermal field.

Polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based composite solid electrolytes (CSEs) hold great promise in the practical deployment of solid lithium batteries (SLBs) owing to their high voltage stability but suffer from poor stability against Li-metal. Herein, a poly(1,3-dioxolane) (PDOL)-graphitic CN (g-CN, i.e.
