AI Article Synopsis

  • The study aimed to analyze the volatile oil from Kadsura heteroclita using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) to create a fingerprint profile.
  • Ten different batches of the plant were analyzed, revealing 23 key peaks, and the samples were grouped into three clusters based on their similarity using hierarchical clustering.
  • The findings indicate that the established fingerprints are reliable and can serve as a useful tool for quality control of Kadsura heteroclita oil.

Article Abstract

Objective: To study the fingerprint of volatile oil from Kadsura heteroclita by GC-MS.

Methods: 10 batches of Kadsura heteroclita were analyzed by GC-MS. TIC profiles were evaluated by" computer aided similarity evaluation system". The characteristic peaks in chromatograms were identified. Hierarchical clustering analysis was performed by SPSS.

Results: 23 main peaks was established preliminarily from 10 batches. Resemblance values of 10 batches were a little low. 10 batches were divided into three main clusters based on hierarchical clustering analysis.

Conclusion: With Good reproducibility, fingerprints established for volatile oil from Kadsura heteroclita provides an effective method for quality control.
