Objective: This study aimed to explore the expression and their correlation of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) and EIF4E binding protein1 (4EBP1) in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC).
Method: MTOR and 4EBP1 expression was studied using immunohistochemical methods in LSCC tissues of 77 cases and adjacent tissues of 18 cases, and then the relationship of their expression and clinical pathological factors were analyzed.
Result: The positive expression rates of mTOR and 4EBP1 were 54.5% and 48.1% in laryngeal carcinoma, which was significantly higher than those in para-carcinoma (P < 0.05). Expression of mTOR and 4EBP1 was associated with metastases to lymph nodes and histopathology classification (P < 0.05), but was not associated with clinic stages (P > 0.05). There was significant positive correlation between the expression level of mTOR and 4EBP1 in LSCC (P < 0.05).
Conclusion: (1) The high expression of mTOR and 4EBP1 is closely related with clinicopathology and lymph node metastases. It may play an important role in the development and progression of laryngeal carcinoma. (2) The positive correlation on expression level of mTOR and 4EBP1 in LSCC tissue shows that it has clinical significance on clinical therapy and prognosis.

Background: Milk synthesis is an energy-intensive process influenced by oxygen availability. This study investigates how hypoxia affects milk synthesis in BMECs, focusing on key genes involved in lactation and energy metabolism.
Methods: BMECs were cultured in a normoxic environment and then transferred to a hypoxia chamber with 1% O for specified durations.

A therapeutic strategy targeting the PI3K-AKT-mTOR pathway is widely seen as promising against prostate cancer (PCa) treatment. However, resistance to targeted inhibitors is still a major challenge. Herein we observed that the overexpression of TPD52 (isoform 3) in LNCaP, PCa cells confers resistance to mTOR inhibitors, specifically everolimus and rapamycin.

To assess the feasibility and efficacy of sustained-release rapamycin-eluting metal stent in the repair of thermal injury-induced ureteral stricture in mini-pigs and explore its underlying mechanisms. A total of 18 female mini-pigs were used in this study. At 1 month after effective establishment of ureteral stricture model, they were randomly divided into normal control, model, bare-metal stent, and rapamycin-eluting stent groups.

Ubiquitination is involved in several tumor immunomodulatory processes, and targeting E3 ubiquitin ligases has substantial potential in cancer therapy. In this study, the key E3 ubiquitin ligases involved in regulating the malignant progression of LUAD were studied. We first systematically investigated the expression landscape, prognosis, immune infiltration, drug sensitivity, and potential molecular mechanisms of these hub genes in LUAD.
