Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the adverse pregnancy outcomes in women who had treatment for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort using data linkage. Pathology databases from Whipps Cross University Hospital were used to identify women with a histological sample taken at colposcopy between 1995 and 2009. Births for these women were identified through the hospitals' obstetric database. A total of 876 births (from 721 women) were identified. Logistic regression was used to assess the relationship between adverse pregnancy outcomes and treatment for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia before delivery. Results were adjusted by ethnicity, deprivation, and parity.
Results: After taking into account parity, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity, receiving any type of excisional treatment (single or multiple) before birth increased the risk of preterm labor compared with having a punch biopsy only (adjusted relative risk, 1.61; 95% confidence interval, 1.11-2.32). Preterm deliveries that occurred after a spontaneous onset of labor were found to be more likely after treatment for cervical disease (adjusted relative risk, 1.68; 95% confidence interval, 1.11-2.52).
Conclusions: Women receiving any type of excisional treatment before delivery are at increased risk of preterm delivery when compared with women attending colposcopy but not treated. Although we took into account the effects of parity, socioeconomic status, and ethnicity, residual confounding factors may be unidentified.

Background: In this study we explored the association of polymorphisms of glutathione s transferase gene including GSTM1, GSTT1 and GSTP1 with adverse acute normal tissue reactions resulted from radiotherapy in HNC patients. We assessed the association of GSTM1 and GSTT1 null genotypes and Ile105Val of exon-5 and Ala114Val of exon-6 of GSTP1 gene polymorphisms with the risk of acute skin toxicity reactions after therapeutic radiotherapy in HNC patients.
Methods: Four hundred HNC patients administered with Intensity modulated radiation therapy were enrolled in this study for the evaluation of radiotherapy associated toxicity reactions.

Investigate the impact of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) using different photosensitizers (PSs) such as indocyanine green (IG), curcumin (CC), and methylene blue (MB), with or without intracanal application of calcium hydroxide (CH), on the push-out bond strength of glass-fiber posts (GFPs) to intraradicular dentin, the chemical composition of the root substrate, and the sealing of the adhesive interface across different thirds of intraradicular dentin. A total of 112 bovine teeth underwent biomechanical preparation and were divided into eight experimental groups (n = 14 each): Negative control with deionized water; positive control with deionized water + CH; IG group with indocyanine green and infrared laser; IG + CH group; CC group with curcumin and blue LED; CC + CH group; MB group with methylene blue and red laser; and MB + CH group. The push-out bond strength was measured using a universal testing machine (n = 8), and scanning electron microscopy characterized the fracture patterns.

Eosinophilia is a notable feature in various hematological malignancies, including specific types of leukemias and lymphomas that may occur in the head and neck. In hematologic malignancies, eosinophilia can be primary, driven by genetic abnormalities, or secondary, resulting from cytokine and chemokine production by the neoplastic cells or the tumor microenvironment. This review examines the association between eosinophilia and head and neck hematolymphoid malignancies including Classic Hodgkin lymphoma, T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia, mature T and NK-cell lymphomas, and Langerhans cell histiocytosis.
