This study examined, in health care attenders, the effect of different sociodemographic variables and physical illness on the probability of suffering from mental disorders. In health centres, the prevalence of mental disorders was 19.3% (12.4% for males and 23.8% for females). Logistic modelling was used to investigate the joint effect on psychiatric morbidity of 6 sociodemographic variables and physical illness. It was found that sex, age, and physical illness exerted independent but not interactive effects on the probability of psychiatric morbidity.

Few studies have estimated schizophrenia prevalence in the Japanese population and have often relied on reports from hospitals and self-reported physician diagnoses or typical schizophrenia symptoms. These approaches are likely to underestimate the true prevalence owing to stigma, poor insight, or lack of access to health care among respondents.

Purpose: To assess the sensitivity and specificity of the retinopathy of prematurity score (ROPScore) and weight, insulin-like growth factor-1, retinopathy of prematurity algorithm in predicting the risk of developing severe retinopathy of prematurity (prethreshold type 1) in a sample of preterm infants in Brazil.

Materials And Methods: PB, expressed in duration and distribution of physical activity (PA; walking, running, cycling) and sedentary behavior (SB; lying/sitting) and PA intensity was assessed with the Activ8 accelerometer during 7 days. Environmental and personal factors (social influence, health-condition, illness-perception, self-efficacy, fatigue, mood, kinesiophobia, cognition, coping, sleep), participation and HR-QoL, were assessed with validated questionnaires.

According to the Common Sense Model of Self-Regulation, the way patients perceive their health conditions can influence the way they manage them, including if, when, and how they seek treatment. This study explored how individuals perceive persistent symptoms after mTBI, in order to develop a grounded theory about what motivates and demotivates them to seek mental health treatment after their injury.
