A center radially fibrous silica encapsulated TS-1 zeolite (TS-1@KCC-1) has been synthesized in a microemulsion system for the first time. Supporting the Rh(OH)3 species, this novel core-shell structured material serves as a robust bifunctional catalyst for one-pot synthesis of benzamide from benzaldehyde, ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, in which the aldehyde ammoximation and oxime rearrangement occur in a tandem way.

Radiodynamic therapy that employs X-rays to trigger localized reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation can tackle the tissue penetration issue of phototherapy. Although calcium tungstate (CaWO) shows great potential as a radiodynamic agent benefiting from its strong X-ray absorption and the ability to generate electron-hole (e-h) pairs, slow charge carrier transfer and fast e-h recombination greatly limit its ROS-generating performance. Herein, via a one-pot wet-chemical method, oxygen vacancy-rich amorphous/crystalline heterophase CaWO nanoparticles (Ov-a/c-CaWO NPs) with enhanced radiodynamic effect are synthesized for radiodynamic-immunotherapy of cancer.

Polymer-based catalysts have garnered significant interest for their efficiency, reusability, and compatibility with various synthesis processes. In catalytic applications, polymers offer the advantage of structural versatility, enabling functional groups to be tailored for specific catalytic activities. In this study, we developed a novel magnetic copolymer of methyl methacrylate and maleic anhydride (PMMAn), synthesized via in situ chemical polymerization of methyl methacrylate onto maleic anhydride, using benzoyl peroxide as a free-radical initiator.

Nanodots of Transition Metal Sulfides, Carbonates, and Oxides Obtained Through Spontaneous Co-Precipitation with Silica.

The controlled formation and stabilization of nanoparticles is of fundamental relevance for materials science and key to many modern technologies. Common synthetic strategies to arrest growth at small sizes and prevent undesired particle agglomeration often rely on the use of organic additives and require non-aqueous media and/or high temperatures, all of which appear critical with respect to production costs, safety, and sustainability. In the present work, we demonstrate a simple one-pot process in water under ambient conditions that can produce particles of various transition metal carbonates and sulfides with sizes of only a few nanometers embedded in a silica shell, similar to particles derived from more elaborate synthesis routes, like the sol-gel process.

Testosterone (TS) and its 1(2)-dehydrogenated derivative boldenone (BD) are widely used in medicine, veterinary science and as precursors in organic synthesis of many therapeutic steroids. Green production of these compounds is possible from androstenedione (AD) enzymatically, or from phytosterol (PS) using fermentation stages. In this study, the ascomycete sp.

High-performance, environmentally friendly indium phosphide (InP)-based quantum dots (QDs) are urgently needed to meet the demands of rapidly evolving display and lighting technologies. By adopting the highly efficient and cost-effective one-pot method and utilizing aluminum isopropoxide (AIP) as the Al source, a series of Al-doped InP/(Al)ZnS QDs with emission maxima ranging from 480 to 627 nm were synthesized. The photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of the blue, green, yellow, orange, and red QDs, with emission peaks at 480, 509, 560, 600, and 627 nm, reached 34%, 62%, 86%, 96%, and 85%, respectively.
