Genital-pelvic actinomycosis is an uncommon disease which often arises on women with long term use of intrauterine device. Its diagnostic remains difficult. Even if different clinical locations has been reported, location to the psoas muscle is exceptional. We report such a case, diagnosed on a 53 years old woman. Both a tumoral and a severe infectious syndrome appeared three months after an intra-uterine device removal. The septic syndrome led to a laparotomic approach. Unusual clinical presentation, delay between device removal and septic syndrome and lack of genital infection explain the issues to reach the final diagnosis.

Berlin Heart EXCOR sVAD implantation technique for neonates and infants with functionally univentricular ductal-dependent systemic circulation.

The Berlin Heart EXCOR is a pulsatile paracorporeal ventricular assist device (VAD) for neonates, infants, children and adults with congenital or acquired severe ventricular dysfunction. Berlin Heart EXCOR VADs are routinely used as either a bridge to a cardiac transplantation, or occasionally as a bridge to ventricular recovery. Our programmatic philosophy is to bridge neonates and infants with functionally univentricular ductal-dependent systemic circulation or functionally univentricular ductal-dependent pulmonary circulation who are at high risk for staged palliation because of important cardiac risk factors with a single-ventricle VAD (sVAD) as a bridge to a cardiac transplant.

Increased FGF-19 levels following explantation in women with breast implant illness.

Breast Implant Illness (BII) is characterized by a cluster of systemic and local symptoms affecting a subset of women with silicone breast implants. While symptom improvement is frequently observed following implant removal, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood, and the absence of reliable biomarkers complicates clinical decision-making. Here, we investigate inflammatory protein profiles in 43 women with BII, comparing pre- and post-explantation levels using the Olink Target 96 Inflammation panel and Meso Scale Discovery technology for absolute quantification.

The electron-bombarded active pixel sensor (EBAPS) is a highly sensitive vacuum-solid hybrid low-light imaging device capable of functioning in ultra-low illumination environments as low as 10-4 lx. However, this high sensitivity also causes problems, such as a low signal-to-noise ratio and complex noise. To enhance the quality of low-light night vision images captured by EBAPS and achieve effective imaging in ultra-low illumination, this study proposes a noise reduction algorithm based on the noise characteristics of EBAPS images.

Background: Fresh osteochondral allograft (OCA) transplantation is an established treatment option for patients with chondral or osteochondral lesions of the knee. Predictably positive outcomes are seen in situations of focal or isolated cartilage defects. However, OCA transplantation may also be performed in more complex joint salvage situations in young patients.

Objective: To analyze data from patient information forms (PIFs) submitted to the manufacturer of a new 3-piece inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP), the Rigicon Infla10® , to summarize interim outcomes of 250 implantations in a single center, which is the largest series in Türkiye.

Methods: A retrospective review of PIFs from 250 patients implanted with the IPP between January 2021 and December 2023 was performed to assess patient characteristics, surgical data, device durability, patient satisfaction, and rates of reoperation for any reason.

Results: The mean ± SD (range) follow-up was 21.
