The anchor or Peng flap, first described in 1987, has not been comprehensively discussed in the literature since 2008. The anchor flap is worth revisiting as a useful advancement-rotation flap for medium-sized defects of the distal nose. More recent variations to the flap design incorporate medial cheek advancement and allow for versatility in its use for wide defects of the nasal tip, supratip, and dorsum.

When designing wearables that interface with the human head, face and neck, designers and engineers consider human senses, ergonomics and comfort. A dense 3D pressure discomfort threshold map could be helpful, but does not exist yet. Differences in pressure discomfort threshold for areas of the head, neck and face were recorded, to create a 3D pressure discomfort threshold map.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the data of conductance and capacitance measurements of facial skin hydration and to evaluate and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches.
Methods: We measured skin capacitance (Corneometer® CM 825) and skin conductance (Skicon-200EX®) on 30 pre-defined facial sites of 125 Chinese women, resulting in 3750 readings per device. The data were analysed and compared, and continuous colour maps were generated on a 3D avatar for capacitance, conductance, relative difference (Δ%) and correlation (R-value) by interpolating between the individual readings and converting the values to colours.
