Although popular, I argue that the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) account of authorship is flawed. It inadvertently allows for practices that it was designed to prevent. In addition, it creates a new category of authorless papers--orphan papers. The original World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) criterion is preferable.

Phenomic selection based on parental spectra can be used to predict GCA and SCA in a sparse factorial design. Prediction approaches such as genomic selection can be game changers in hybrid breeding. They allow predicting the genetic values of hybrids without the need for their physical production.

Background: The RAR-related orphan receptor alpha (RORA), a circadian clock molecule, is highly associated with anti-oncogenes. In this paper, we defined the precise action and mechanistic basis of RORA in ESCC development under hypoxia.

Methods: Expression analysis was conducted by RT-qPCR, western blotting, immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry (IHC) assays.

To reduce environmental risks and impacts from orphaned wells (abandoned oil and gas wells), it is essential to first locate and then plug these wells. Manual reading and digitizing of information from historical documents is not feasible, given the large number of wells. Here, we propose a new computational approach for rapidly and cost-effectively characterizing these wells.

Introduction And Importance: Follicular cystitis (FC) is a rare inflammatory disorder of the bladder that predominantly affects women. The exact cause of FC remains largely unknown, although it has been associated with inflammatory processes and bacterial infections, particularly following urinary tract infections. Regarding orphan diseases, like follicular cystitis, where large-scale trials seem virtually impossible, case reports find their place and guide the scientific community to find the best course of action.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has been a clinical challenge due to its high recurrence and metastasis rates. Chemotherapy remains the primary treatment for TNBC after surgery ablation, but it lacks targeted specificity and causes side effects in normal tissues. Receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 1 (ROR1) is significantly expressed in TNBC cells, and small interference RNA (siRNA) targeting ROR1 can effectively suppress ROR1 gene expression, thereby inhibiting proliferation and metastasis.
