2-(Acet-oxy-meth-yl)benzoic acid.

Acta Crystallogr Sect E Struct Rep Online

Carbohydrate Chemistry Group, Industrial Research Limited, PO Box 31-310, Lower Hutt, New Zealand.

Published: February 2013

The title compound, C(10)H(10)O(4), crystallizes with the well-known carb-oxy-lic acid dimer-forming R(2) (2)(8) hydrogen-bond motif. Chains approximately parallel to (-1-12) are then built through C(methyl-ene,phen-yl)-H⋯O(carbon-yl) inter-actions [C(6) and C(8) motifs] with one (meth-yl)C-H⋯π inter-action providing inter-planar binding. The weakness of the latter inter-action is consistent with the difficulty experienced in obtaining suitable single crystals.

The aim of this experiment was to investigate the effects of rumen fluid and molasses on the nutrient composition, fermentation quality, and microflora of Caragana korshinskii Kom. The trial included four treatments: a control group (CK) without additives and experimental groups supplemented with 7% rumen fluid (R), 4% molasses (M), and 7% rumen fluid + 4% molasses (RM). 15 days and 60 days of ensiling.

A sterilization method for human decellularized vaginal matrices.

Sci Rep

Department of Medical Microbiology and Infection Prevention, Amsterdam UMC - Location AMC, Meibergdreef 9, 1105 AZ, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Vaginal reconstruction is necessary for various congenital and acquired conditions, including vaginal aplasia, trauma, tumors, and gender incongruency. Current surgical and non-surgical treatments often result in significant complications. Decellularized vaginal matrices (DVMs) from human tissue offer a promising alternative, but require effective sterilization to ensure safety and functionality.

The mungbean yellow mosaic India virus (MYMIV, Begomovirus vignaradiataindiaense) causes Yellow Mosaic Disease (YMD) in mungbean (Vigna radiata L.). The biochemical assays including total phenol content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), ascorbic acid (AA), DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl), and FRAP (Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power) were used to study the mungbean plants defense response to MYMIV infection.

Mangrove forests are increasingly recognized as vital blue carbon ecosystems due to their high carbon sequestration capacity, primarily through the accumulation of soil organic carbon (SOC). Recent research highlights that, in addition to SOC, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), particularly in the form of bicarbonate (HCO₃⁻), plays a crucial role in carbon sequestration by being exported from these ecosystems to adjacent coastal waters. This study aims to investigate the previously unexamined mechanisms behind bicarbonate production in mangrove soils.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a fatal disease defined by a progressive decline in lung function due to scarring and accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins. The SOCS (Suppressor Of Cytokine Signaling) domain is a 40 amino acid conserved domain known to form a functional ubiquitin ligase complex targeting the Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) protein for proteasomal degradation. Here we show that the SOCS conserved domain operates as a molecular tool, to disrupt collagen and fibronectin fibrils in the ECM associated with fibrotic lung myofibroblasts.
