Here we report the physical mapping of the rad56-1 mutation to the NAT3 gene, which encodes the catalytic subunit of the NatB N-terminal acetyltransferase in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Mutation of RAD56 causes sensitivity to X-rays, methyl methanesulfonate, zeocin, camptothecin and hydroxyurea, but not to UV light, suggesting that N-terminal acetylation of specific DNA repair proteins is important for efficient DNA repair.

This article presents a scoping review aimed at mapping the main sources of moral distress among nursing professionals. The review was conducted according to the Arksey and O'Malley methodology, using the SPIDER framework to guide the systematic search in the BVS, PubMed, PsycArticles, Scielo, and Scopus databases. Initially, 2320 publications were identified.

This study aimed to predict and fit the nonlinear dynamic grip force of the human upper limb using surface electromyographic (sEMG) signals. The research employed a time-series-based neural network, NARX, to establish a mapping relationship between the electromyographic signals of the forearm muscle groups and dynamic grip force. Three-channel electromyographic signal acquisition equipment and a grip force sensor were used to record muscle signals and grip force data of the subjects under specific dynamic force conditions.

The fuel system serves as the core component of marine diesel engines, and timely and effective fault diagnosis is the prerequisite for the safe navigation of ships. To address the challenge of current data-driven fault-diagnosis-based methods, which have difficulty in feature extraction and low accuracy under small samples, this paper proposes a fault diagnosis method based on digital twin (DT), Siamese Vision Transformer (SViT), and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). Firstly, a diesel engine DT model is constructed by integrating the mathematical, mechanism, and three-dimensional physical models of the Medium-speed diesel engines of 6L21/31 Marine, completing the mapping from physical entity to virtual entity.

Timely, accurate assessment and treatment for social anxiety disorder (SAD) in young people is crucial. There is potential for the adoption of tailored virtual reality interventions for a complementary diagnostic tool using heart rate monitoring as a response indicator. This study examined the feasibility and acceptability of this concept by exposing healthy individuals, aged 18-25, to developed 360° immersive films while collecting heart rate sensor data.

Immediate and prolonged effects of different exercise intensities on the regularity of joint and coordinative patterns in runners.

Article Synopsis
  • Runners who don't allow enough recovery time after training may be at a higher risk for injuries due to fatigue and altered movement patterns.
  • A study looked at how different running intensities affect lower-limb joint movements and coordination during a single-leg squat in 30 healthy runners.
  • Immediate and longer-term changes showed that coordination patterns became less adaptive (more regular) after moderate and high-intensity runs, but traditional kinematic analysis did not effectively capture these changes.
