We identified seven distinct coronaviruses (CoVs) in bats from Brazil, classified into 229E-related (Alpha-CoV), Nobecovirus, Sarbecovirus, and Merbecovirus (Beta-CoV), including one closely related to MERS-like CoV with 82.8% genome coverage. To accomplish this, we screened 423 oral and rectal swabs from 16 different bat species using molecular assays, RNA sequencing, and evolutionary analysis.

Animals can use specific environmental cues to make informed decisions about whether and where to disperse. Patch conditions are known to affect the dispersal behavior of animals, but empirical studies investigating the impact of resource diversity on the dispersal of closely related species are largely lacking. In this study, we investigated how food diversity affects the dispersal behavior of three co-occurring cryptic species of the marine bacterivorous nematode complex (Pm I, Pm III and Pm IV).

Genome mining of NBU2194 resulted in the identification of a family of 17-membered macrolides, neptunizhulides A-F. Their structures were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic data analysis. Stereochemical assignments of the neptunizhulides were determined by -based configuration analysis, ROESY NMR, Mosher's ester derivatization, and bioinformatic predictions.

Filamentous fungi are of great interest due to their powerful metabolic capabilities and potentials to produce abundant various secondary metabolites as natural products (NPs), some of which have been developed into pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, high-throughput genome sequencing has revealed tremendous cryptic NPs underexplored. Based on the development of in silico genome mining, various techniques have been introduced to rationally modify filamentous fungi, awakening the silent biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) and visualizing the NPs originally cryptic.

One new azaphilone derivative () from in ordinary medium, one new phthalide derivative (), a microbial transformation product of ingredients by , a pair of new austdiol enantiomers (+)- and (-)-, one new epsilon-caprolactone derivative (), and one new ophiobolin-type sesterterpenoid () from the in host medium were reported. The structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compounds - could completely inhibit the germination of rice seeds at 50 μg/mL, which is higher than that of the positive control.
