Radical-radical reaction channels are important in the pyrolysis and oxidation chemistry of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). In particular, unimolecular dissociation reactions within unbranched -perfluoroalkyl chains, and their corresponding reverse barrierless association reactions, are expected to be significant contributors to the gas-phase thermal decomposition of families of species such as perfluorinated carboxylic acids and perfluorinated sulfonic acids. Unfortunately, experimental data for these reactions are scarce and uncertain.

Preparation of ion-conductive hydrogels with excellent mechanics, good conductivity and adhesiveness is promising for flexible sensors, but remains a challenge. Here, we prepare a self-adhesive and ion-conductive hydrogel by introducing cellulose nanofibers (CNF) and ZnSO into a covalently-crosslinked poly (acrylamide-co-2-acrylamide-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid) (P(AM-co-AMPS)) network. Metallogels built in a bottom-up approach by metal coordination and supramolecular interactions have important potential for the elaboration of smart materials. In this context, we present here the formation of supramolecular coordination polymers driven by the complexation of cobalt(II) or zinc(II) ions with polyoxometalate-based hybrids displaying two terpyridine ligands in a linear arrangement. Thanks to the electrostatic interactions between the polyoxometalate cores and metal nodes, the polymer chains self-assemble into fibers that physically cross-link to form gels above a critical concentration.

The anti-atherosclerotic effects of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) prevent the onset of cerebral infarction and provide cerebroprotective effects against ischemia-reperfusion injury. Policy strategies targeting imprudent antimicrobial use (AMU) in livestock farming have been established at the global and country levels, recognising the risks associated with antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
