Saccharides and chitooligosaccharides can be separated in electrophoretic conditions by raising the pH of the medium, which renders the corresponding alcoholate forms. These anionic species can be separated and detected with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection as negative peaks because of their low mobilities when compared to the hydroxyl mobility, which is the main co-ion in the background electrolyte. Three methods for different matrixes are presented in this chapter.

The NiCoO Nanosheets@Carbon fibers composites have been successfully synthesized by a facile co-electrodeposition process. The mesoporous NiCoO nanosheets aligned vertically on the surface of carbon fibers and crosslinked with each other, producing loosely porous nanostructures. These hybrid composite electrodes exhibit high specific capacitance in a three-electrode cell.

This paper presents a 35 nV/√Hz analog front-end (AFE) circuitdesigned in the UMC 40 nm CMOS technology for the acquisition of biopotential signal. The proposed AFE consists of a capacitive-coupled instrumentation amplifier (CCIA) and a combination of a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and a low-pass filter (LPF). The CCIA includes a DC servo loop (DSL) to eliminate electrode DC offset (EDO) and a ripple rejection loop (RRL) with self-zeroing technology to suppress high-frequency ripples caused by the chopper.

The continuous expansion of wireless communication application scenarios demands the active tuning of electromagnetic (EM) metamaterials, which is essential for their flexible adaptation to complex EM environments. However, EM reconfigurable systems based on intricate designs and smart materials often exhibit limited flexibility and incur high manufacturing costs. Inspired by mechanical metastructures capable of switching between multistable configurations under repeated deformation, we propose a planar kirigami frequency selective surface (FSS) that enables mechanical control of its resonant frequency.

This paper introduces a novel contactless single-chip detector that utilizes impedance-to-digital conversion technology to measure impedance in the microfluidic channel or capillary format analytical device. The detector is designed to operate similarly to capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detectors for capillary electrophoresis or chromatography but with the added capability of performing frequency sweeps up to 200 kHz. At each recorded data point, impedance and phase-shift data can be extracted, which can be used to generate impedance versus frequency plots, or phase-shift versus frequency plots.
