Anthelmintic treatment of nematode infections remains the mainstay of worm control in farm and companion animals. However, control is threatened by the occurrence of drug resistant nematodes. In recent years, three new anthelmintics have been introduced to the market. Here, we describe the main features including mode of action, availability, spectrum, dose, tolerability, safety, and resistance of emodepside, monepantel, and derquantel.

Anions play a crucial role in various environmental, chemical, and biological processes. Among various anions, the production of perchlorate (ClO ) ion is expected to rise in upcoming years, and thus, an efficient method for the detection of perchlorate ion is highly desirable. In this effort, a pyridyl-benzimidazole-based luminescent probe (RSB1) containing two N-H donor sites has been synthesized for selective detection of perchlorate ion.

Avermectins (AVMs) and their derivatives are the most effective and widely used nematicides, insecticides, and acaricides against endo- and ectoparasites of plants, animals, and humans. Demand for avermectins and their highly effective derivatives has increased due to their high cost-effectiveness and wide range of applications as medicines and crop protection products. Due to the unique structures of these compounds and for industrial production purposes, numerous efforts and strategies have been dedicated to enhancing the production of avermectins and creating new analogues in recent years.

The P2X4 receptor (P2X4R), a ligand-gated ion channel activated by ATP, plays a critical role in neuroinflammation, chronic pain, and cancer progression, making it a promising therapeutic target. In this study, we explored the design and synthesis of piperazine-based P2X4R antagonists, building on the structural framework of paroxetine. A series of over 35 compounds were synthesized to investigate structure-activity relationships (SARs) in a Ca²⁺-flux assay for P2X4R antagonistic activity.
