The study aimed to investigate the impact of a delay of 12h between sample collection and HbA1c measurement. We propose an easy method to determine the adequacy of removal of HbA1d and in case of insufficient removal suggest measurement of HbA1c 12h after collection.

Objective: To investigate the short-term blood flow changes and image features of the retina and choroid in patients who underwent carotid artery revascularization (CAR) for severe carotid artery stenosis using widefield swept-source OCT angiography (OCTA).
Design: Prospective study.
Participants: This prospective study included 112 eyes (56 eyes on the ipsilateral side and 56 eyes on the contralateral side) of 56 participants with severe carotid artery stenosis.

Over the past few decades, ocean hypoxia has been increasing due to human activities. Hypoxic stress, characterized by a reduced level of dissolved oxygen, is an escalating threat to marine ecosystems, with potentially devastating effects on the viability of endangered species such as the tri-spine horseshoe crab Tachypleus tridentatus. Even though this species is remarkably resilient to low oxygen levels, persistent hypoxia can negatively impact its population's survivability.

Single-molecule fluorescence resonance energy transfer (smFRET) has emerged as a pivotal technique for probing biomolecular dynamics over time at nanometer scales. Quantitative analyses of smFRET time traces remain challenging due to confounding factors such as low signal-to-noise ratios, photophysical effects such as bleaching and blinking, and the complexity of modeling the underlying biomolecular states and kinetics. The dynamic distance information shaping the smFRET trace powerfully uncovers even transient conformational changes in single biomolecules both at or far from equilibrium, relying on trace idealization to identify specific interconverting states.

Occlusal tactile acuity (OTA) and bite force are essential components of the sensorimotor control of oral behaviors. While these variables have been studied independently, it has not yet been revealed whether compressive force impacts the occlusal perception mediated by the mechanoreceptive afferents in the periodontal ligament. The present study examined the effect of repetition and maximum bite force on OTA by testing nine aluminum foils of different thicknesses together with a sham test with no foil, three times each, in randomized order in 36 healthy individuals.
