Branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO) and branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO) rarely cause neovascular glaucoma (NVG). A 58-year-old woman with hypertension and type 2 diabetic mellitus complained of progressive visual loss in her right eye for the previous 3 months. At initial examination, visual acuity was 20 / 63 in the right eye. Angle neovascularization was observed and the intraocular pressure (IOP) was 30 mmHg in her right eye. Fundus examination and fluorescein angiography showed BRAO combined with BRVO. We immediately injected intravitreal and intracameral bevacizumab in her right eye. The next day, we performed scatter photocoagulation in the nonperfusion area. One month later, visual acuity was 20 / 20 in her right eye and the IOP was 17 mmHg with one topical antiglaucoma agent. The neovascularization had regressed completely. We report a case of unilateral NVG which was caused by BRAO with concomitant BRVO and advise close ophthalmic examination of the iris and angle in BRVO with BRAO.

Purpose: To evaluate and contrast the effectiveness and safety of two conbercept treatment protocols-a three-dose treat-and-extend (3+T&E) regimen and a three-dose pro re nata (3+PRN) regimen-in Chinese patients diagnosed with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD).
Methods: Eligible patients, who had not undergone anti-VEGF intraocular injections within 3 months prior to enrollment, were randomly assigned to either the 3+T&E or 3+PRN regimen. The 3+T&E group received at least three monthly injections, with subsequent visit intervals extended based on disease activity assessment.

Intravascular ultrasound is mainly used for the diagnosis and interventional treatment of coronary heart disease. Retinal artery occlusion caused by intravascular ultrasound is very rare. We report a case of acute branch retinal arteriolar occlusion after intravascular ultrasound examination of the coronary artery in a patient with coronary heart disease.

The development of the neural retina requires a complex, spatiotemporally regulated network of gene expression. Here we review the role of the cone rod homeobox () transcription factor in specification and differentiation of retinal photoreceptors and its function in inherited retinal diseases such as cone-rod dystrophy (CoRD), dominant retinitis pigmentosa (RP), and Leber's congenital amaurosis (LCA). We delineate the findings of animal models and, more recently, human retinal organoids in elucidating molecular mechanisms of CRX activity and the pathogenesis of inherited photoreceptor degenerations.

Susac syndrome is a rare microangiopathy affecting the brain, retina, and cochlea. Individuals affected typically present with a classical clinical triad of branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO), encephalopathy or white matter lesions, and sensorineural hearing loss. Herein, we report an exceedingly rare case of a middle-aged female patient with multiple presentations related to her visual field complaints.
