Intravascular optical coherence tomography is a high-resolution invasive imaging modality that allows the evaluation of vascular responses after stent implantation in a micron-scale level. We describe for the first time two patients with very late vascular response after carotid artery stenting that exhibit two different patterns of low-signal intensity (LSI), "ill-appearing" neointima: the first patient shows layered LSI neointima leading to stent restenosis, coupled with the presence of intraluminal thrombus, whereas the second patient demonstrates another pattern of non-restenotic LSI stent strut coverage, suggestive of lipid laden neointima (ie, "neoatherosclerosis"), recently associated with stent failure in coronary arteries.

Purpose: To compare changes in angle morphology, anterior chamber depth (ACD) and refractive prediction error (PE) after phacoemulsification between pseudoexfoliative (PEX) and non-PEX eyes.
Methods: Prospective case-control study of eyes submitted to cataract surgery. Biometric data and angle parameters - Anterior Chamber Angle (ACA), Angle Opening Distance (AOD), Scleral Spur Angles (SSA) and Trabecular Iris Space Area (TISA) - were measured preoperatively and 1-month postoperatively through swept-source anterior segment optical coherence tomography.

Significance: Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is widely utilized to investigate brain activities and disorders in anesthetized or restrained rodents. However, anesthesia can alter several physiological parameters, leading to findings that might not fully represent the true physiological state. To advance the understanding of brain function in awake and freely moving animals, the development of wearable OCT probes is crucial.

In this study, we used two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy to examine the early femtosecond dynamics of suspensions of colloidal gold nanorods with different aspect ratios. In all samples, the signal distribution in the 2D maps at this timescale shows a distinctive dispersive behavior, which can be explained by the interference between the exciting field and the field produced on the nanoparticle's surface by the collective motion of electrons when the plasmon is excited. Studying this interference effect, which is active only until the plasmon has been dephased, allows for a direct estimation of the dephasing time of the plasmon of an ensemble of colloidal particles.

In this study, the effect of feedstock concentration on the synthesis of WO nanostructures in a one-step hydrothermal process was investigated. According to our experiments, when titrating aqueous NaWO·2HO with HCl solutions of different concentrations to a constant pH of 1.5, after identical hydrothermal treatments at 180 °C, the morphology, crystal size and phase composition as well as the optical properties of the products could be tuned.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a temporary metabolic disorder in which small retinal vessels may have experience subtle changes before clinical lesions of the fundus retina appear. An innovative artificial intelligence image processing technology was applied to locate and analyze the small retinal vessel morphology and accurately evaluate the changes of the small retinal vessels in GDM patients and pregnant women with normal blood glucose and non-pregnant women with normal blood glucose.
Methods: The subjects were divided into three groups:GDM group, pregnant control group (PC), and normal control group (NC).
