Seed germination is a crucial stage in plant development, intricately regulated by various environmental stimuli. Understanding these interactions is essential for optimizing planting and seedling management but remains challenging due to the trade-off effects of environmental factors on the germination process. We proposed a new conceptual model by viewing seed germination as a dynamic process in a physiological dimension, with the influence of environmental factors and seed heterogeneity characterized by a germination speed and a dispersion coefficient.

A growing body of evidence suggests that non-optimal ambient temperatures are associated with increased incidence rate and mortality of thromboembolic diseases. We aim to investigate the association between apparent temperature (AT) and coagulation, which is a central pathological link in the formation of thrombi. In this study, we conducted a time series analysis using data from 18,894 participants collected from a health check-up center in Beijing between 2014 and 2023, and validated our findings using 20,549 participants from an andrology outpatient clinic.

Reduced body size is an ecological response to climate change. Differential responses to heat stress in phenotypically diverse bovine lineages may imply a body size-dependent stress response. Heat-tolerant dwarf Vechur, Kasaragod (Bos taurus indicus), and heat-sensitive crossbred (CB, B.

Purpose: This study evaluated the effect of torque customization of lingual brackets with resin-modified bases on their shear bond strength (SBS), adhesive remnant index (ARI), and bond failure patterns (BFP).
Methods: The sample comprised 200 lingual lower incisor brackets (DTC® ORG, DTC Medical Apparatus, Hangzhou, China); 40 brackets were tested as-received and 4 groups with 40 brackets each were customized for -10, -20, +10 and +20° torque respectively with light-cured composite resin (Transbond XT™, 3M Unitek, Monrovia, CA, USA) bases. All brackets were bonded to bovine mandibular incisors.
