Kinetics and thermodynamics of amide hydrogen exchange in proteins can be investigated with two-dimensional (13)CO-(15)N NMR correlation experiments. The spectra are acquired with high resolution and sensitivity. A single type of experiment on one sample serves to characterize hydrogen-deuterium fractionation factors and hydrogen-exchange rates that span three orders of magnitude.

The development of highly active and stable cathodes in alkaline solutions is crucial for promoting the commercialization of anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzers, yet it remains a significant challenge. Herein, we synthesized atomically dispersed CoP moieties (CoP-SSC) immobilized on ultrathin carbon nanosheets via a phosphidation exfoliation strategy at medium temperature. The interaction of sodium phytate hydrate CHOP·xNa·yHO (phytNa) with Cu(OAc)·HO and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) led to the anionic tetranuclear complex [Cu(HO)(phen)(phyt)]·2Na·2NH·32HO (), the structure of the latter was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The phytate is completely deprotonated; six phosphate fragments (with atoms P1-P6) are characterized by different spatial arrangements relative to the cyclohexane ring (1a5e conformation), which determines two different types of coordination to the complexing agents-P1 and P3, P4, and P6 have monodentate, while P2 and P5 are bidentately bound to Cu cations. The molecular structure of the anion complex is stabilized by a set of strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds involving coordinated water molecules.

The metal bipolar plate is a critical component of the hydrogen fuel cell stack used in proton exchange membrane fuel cells. Bipolar plates must have high accuracy micro-channels with a high aspect ratio () between the channel depth and the half periodic width to achieve optimal cell performance. Conventional forming methods, such as micro-stamping, hydroforming, and rubber pad forming, cannot achieve these high ARs given that in these processes, material deformation is dominated by stretch deformation.

Herein, -glucan (BG) was extracted from different colored varieties of highland barley (HB, ), defined as BBG, WBG, and LBG depending on the colors of black, white, and blue and their molecular structure and physicochemical properties were investigated through a series of technical methods. The high-performance anion-exchange chromatography (HPAEC) results indicated the extracted BBG, LBG, and WBG mainly comprised glucose regardless of color.
