Primary gastrointestinal tract lymphoma (PGIL) is a rare form of presentation of gastrointestinal tract (GI) lymphomas. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the use of thiopurines are known risk factors for its appearance. We report a male patient in his early 70s treated only with mesalamine for ulcerative colitis (UC) for the past 6 years.

Objective: To evaluate South Asian (SA) and White (WH) inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) phenotypes, and to explore treatment approach variations between these cohorts in the UK using the IBD BioResource database.

Design: Differences between WH and SA IBD patients were analysed using demographic, phenotypic and outcome data. Drug utilisation patterns and surgical outcomes were assessed in propensity score-matched (PSM) cohorts with multivariable logistic regression, Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier analysis.

Introduction: Thiopurine drugs are metabolized by thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT) and low TPMT activity can result in severe adverse drug reactions. Therefore, TPMT testing is recommended for individuals receiving thiopurines to reduce the risk of toxicity.

Objectives: The objectives of this study were to assess the rate of TPMT testing among individuals receiving thiopurines and explore factors associated with undergoing TPMT testing in Australia.

Background: It is unknown which maintenance therapy is the most effective option for patients admitted for an acute severe ulcerative colitis (ASUC) episode responding to intravenous steroids.

Methods: We conducted a multicentre, parallel-group, open-label randomised controlled trial among 23 French centres in thiopurine and biologics-naïve adults admitted for ASUC responding to intravenous steroids. Eligible patients were randomly assigned to receive infliximab (IFX) and azathioprine (AZA) with a 7-day steroid tapering scheme (IFX+AZA arm) or AZA and conventional standardised steroid tapering regimen (AZA arm).

Objective To investigate the clinical course of ulcerative colitis (UC) during pregnancy, focusing on their mutual influence. Methods We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 58 patients with UC who had 73 pregnancies and 3 patients with newly developed UC during pregnancy. We recorded the rate of relapse of UC; the relationship between medication use and UC relapse during pregnancy; treatment for relapse; and the incidence of pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn abnormalities.
