Sugar complexation to silicone boronic acids.

A new class of surface-active compounds based on the combination of silicones and boronic acids is described. The properties of the compounds can be tuned by manipulation of both the hydrophobic (silicone size and 3D structure) and hydrophilic components (by binding different saccharides to the boronic acid). Stabilization of the four-coordinate boron structure is provided by Tris buffer that also maintains neutral pH to suppress silicone hydrolysis.

Advances in cross-coupling and oxidative coupling reactions of NH-sulfoximines - a review.

Due to the special structure and physicochemical properties of sulfoximines, research on sulfoximines has achieved great progress in recent decades, especially in chemical and medicinal fields. This review highlights recent advancements in the N-functionalization of NH-sulfoximines, focusing on classical cross-coupling reactions with electrophilic agents and oxidative coupling reactions with extensive organic compounds, including specific (hetero)arenes, alkenes (1,4-naphthoquinones), alkanes (cyclohexanes), nucleophiles (thiols, disulfides, sulfinates, diarylphosphine oxides), organyl boronic acids, and arylhydrazines. Transition metal-catalyzed, metal-free, electrochemical and radical oxidative coupling reactions are discussed.

Background: In CARTITUDE-4, ciltacabtagene autoleucel (cilta-cel) significantly improved progression-free survival (primary endpoint; previously reported) versus standard of care in patients with relapsed, lenalidomide-refractory multiple myeloma. We report here patient-reported outcomes.

Methods: In the ongoing, phase 3, open-label CARTITUDE-4 study, patients were recruited from 81 sites in the USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia, and were randomly assigned 1:1 to cilta-cel (target, 0·75 × 10 CAR-T cells/kg) or standard of care (daratumumab, pomalidomide, and dexamethasone; pomalidomide, bortezomib, and dexamethasone).

Boronic acids have been widely applied in various biological fields, particularly achieving significant practical progress in boronic acid-based glucose sensing. However, boronic acids exhibit nonspecific binding to other nucleophiles, and the inherent lability of boronic esters in biological systems limits their further applications.
