Based on the ash-related problems during biomass combustion, the evolution of element S, Cl, K and chemical components and ash fusion characteristics of capsicum stalks, cotton stalks and wheat stalks ashed at 1000, 1200 and 1400 °C are further studied by XRF and XRD. Cl disappears at 815 °C in the form of HCl due to the aluminosilicate of sylvite. Above 1000 °C, inorganic S is released in the form of SO2 by the silicate of K2SO4, which is the main reason that ashing ratio decreases at high temperature. Except of the evaporation of KCl and K2SO4 aerosol which cause the release of K, Cl and S, K may be also reduced by the organic decomposition and the releases of metal K and KOH. The ash fusion characteristics of biomass are mainly dependent on the high-temperature molten material built up by quartz, potassium iron oxide and silicates.

Leukemia, a life-threatening form of cancer, poses a significant global health challenge affecting individuals of all age groups, including both children and adults. Currently, the diagnostic process relies on manual analysis of microscopic images of blood samples. In recent years, machine learning employing deep learning approaches has emerged as cutting-edge solutions for image classification problems.

Regular physical activity and exercise (PA) are cornerstones of diabetes care for individuals with type 1 diabetes. In recent years, the availability of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems has improved the ability of people with type 1 diabetes to achieve the recommended glucose target ranges. PA provide additional health benefits but can cause glucose fluctuations, which challenges current AID systems.

This study examines the impact of leaching with dilute hydrochloric acid solution on the reduction of ash content and the thermal degradation behavior of sugarcane bagasse. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to statistically design the experiments and investigate the effect of three independent variables: treatment time, solid-to-liquid ratio, and reagent concentration. The leaching conditions were further optimized and experimentally validated for maximum ash reduction for suitability of treated biomass as feedstock for thermochemical conversion technologies.

A suite of plasma diagnostics will be installed on the SPARC tokamak to allow for real-time plasma control, an investigation of high-field tokamak physics, and to de-risk the design of ARC, a compact fusion power plant with the aim to supply electricity to the grid. Among these diagnostics is the neutral gas diagnostics system (NTGS), a set of pressure sensors and gas analyzers used to monitor neutral pressure and gas composition for plasma control, optimization of wall conditioning, and helium ash removal, among other measurement functions linked to operational and scientific research needs. While reliable measurements of neutral pressure and gas composition have been fielded on existing magnetic-confinement fusion devices, SPARC represents a step increase in challenge due to its larger power density, higher field, high vacuum vessel bake temperatures, and higher neutron flux environment, as well as a step decrease in the accessibility for maintenance of in-vessel sensors.
