Objective: To study the quality difference among Citrus grandis 'Tomentosas' of different cultivars, in order to provide scientific basis for seeking for fine breeds.

Method: The HPLC fingerprints were established for C. grandis 'Tomentosa' of different cultivars in the GAP base of Huazhou Green Life Co., Ltd. The software of similarity evaluation system of traditional Chinese medicine HPLC fingerprints 2004A edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia Commission was adopted for the similarity analysis and judgment of cultivars.

Result: The fingerprints showed similar general characteristics of samples of different cultivars. Specifically, the similarity of areas of the 18 common peaks ranged between 0.938-0.998. The success rate of judging cultivars using similarity software stood at 92%.

Conclusion: This method can be applied to better identify quality and source of cultivars of C. grandis 'Tomentosa', and provide technical measures and scientific basis for seeking for fine breeds of Citri Grandis Exocarpium.

Objectives: To investigate the therapeutic effect of Exocarpium Citri Grandis formula granules (ECGFG) on fatty liver disease (FLD) in zebrafish and explore the underlying mechanism.

Methods: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and alcoholic fatty liver disease (ALD) models were established in zebrafish larvae at 3 days post fertilization (dpf), in which the treatment efficacy of 16, 32, or 64 μg/mL ECGFG was evaluated by examining zebrafish survival and liver pathologies and using whole-fish oil red O staining and RT-qPCR. The therapeutic mechanism of ECGFG for FLD was investigated using Prussian blue staining, DCFH-DA probe, MDA content detection, RT-qPCR assay and immunohistochemical staining for CAV1.

Introduction: Organic fertilizers (OF) are crucial for enhancing soil quality and fostering plant growth, offering a more eco-friendly and enduring solution compared to chemical fertilizers (CF). However, few studies have systematically analyzed the effects of OF/CF on root microbiome of medicinal plants, especially in combination with active ingredients.

Methods: In this study, we investigated the composition and function of bacteria and fungi in the rhizosphere or within the root of traditional Chinese medicinal plants, (Huajuhong), which were treated with OF or CF over 1, 3, and 5 years (starting from 2018).

d-Limonene is the predominant component of essential oil from Exocarpium Citri Grandis, known for its antibacterial, antioxidant, insecticidal, and anti-inflammatory properties. The synthesis, transport, and accumulation of d-limonene in Citrus grandis 'Tomentosa' fruits are regulated by limonene synthase (LS) and its associated regulatory genes. This study addresses the gap in understanding the spatiotemporal cytological changes of LS and its regulatory genes.

Article Synopsis
  • Heart transplantation is a vital option for patients with severe heart failure, but challenges like ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) and immune responses complicate recovery.* -
  • Existing treatments focus mainly on adaptive immunity, leaving gaps in managing IRI and innate immune activation, which are critical for successful transplants.* -
  • A new therapy using reactive oxygen species-responsive nanovesicles carrying rapamycin (FNVs@RAPA) shows potential in reducing early IRI and immune rejection by targeting inflammatory macrophages at the heart graft, improving transplant outcomes.*
