The present study reports molecular characterization of small heat shock protein gene in Indian isolates of Chaetomium globosum, C. perlucidum, C. reflexum, C. cochlioides and C. cupreum. Six isolates of C. globosum and other species showed a band of 630bp using specific primers. Amplified cDNA product of C. globosum (Cg 1) cloned and sequenced showed 603bp open reading frame encoding 200 amino-acids. The protein sequence had a molecular mass of 22 kDa and was therefore, named Hsp22. BlastX analysis revealed that the gene codes for a protein homologous to previously characterized Hsp22.4 gene from C. globosum (AAR36902.1, XP 001229241.1) and shared 95% identity in amino acid sequence. It also showed varying degree of similarities with small Hsp protein from Neurospora spp. (60%), Myceliophthora sp. (59%), Glomerella sp. (50%), Hypocrea sp. (52%), and Fusarium spp. (51%). This gene was further cloned into pET28a (+) and transformed E. coli BL21 cells were induced by IPTG, and the expressed protein of 30 kDa was analyzed by SDS-PAGE. The IPTG induced transformants displayed significantly greater resistance to NaCl and Na2CO3 stresses.

Despite numerous studies linking prenatal vaping to adverse perinatal outcomes, a systematic assessment for critical comparison remains absent. To investigate these associations, we conducted a systematic search of studies assessing perinatal outcomes in mothers and/or neonates exposed to vaping during pregnancy compared to those in women without prenatal vaping exposure through MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, PROSPERO, and Google Scholar until July 5, 2024. We performed inverse-variance random-effects meta-analyses for maternal and neonatal outcomes of 23 studies with a total of 924,376 participants with 7552 reporting vaping-only use during pregnancy.

In recent decades, global climate change and rapid urbanization have aggravated the urban heat island (UHI) effect, affecting the well-being of urban citizens. Although this significant phenomenon is more pronounced in larger metropolitan areas due to extensive impervious surfaces, small- and medium-sized cities also experience UHI effects, yet research on UHI in these cities is rare, emphasizing the importance of land surface temperature (LST) as a key parameter for studying UHI dynamics. Therefore, this paper focuses on the evaluation of LST and land cover (LC) changes in the city of Prešov, Slovakia, a typical medium-sized European city that has recently undergone significant LC changes.

Background: Aggregation of transactive response DNA binding protein 43 (TDP-43) is the major pathological feature of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Recently, in up to 50% of Alzheimer's disease (AD) cases TDP-43 pathology was discovered and this pathology has been referred to as limbic-predominant age-related TDP43 encephalopathy (LATE). Several studies reported that TDP-43 binds to heat shock protein family B (small) member 1 (HSPB1 or HSP27) but no functional evaluation of this interaction has been explored.

We study hydrodynamic thermal transport in high-mobility two-dimensional electron systems placed in an in-plane magnetic field and identify a new mechanism of thermal magnetotransport. This mechanism is caused by drag between the electron populations with opposite spin polarization, which arises in the presence of a hydrodynamic flow of heat. In high mobility systems, spin drag results in strong thermal magnetoresistance, which becomes of the order of 100% at relatively small spin polarization of the electron liquid.

Nervous necrosis virus (NNV) of the genus Betanodavirus is one of the simplest RNA viruses pathogenic to a wide range of fish species. We established the SeGF, SeGE-22 and SeGB cell lines persistently infected with NNV (PI-SeGF, PI-SeGE-22 and PI-SeGB cells) by repeatedly subculturing the cells that survived NNV infection. The PI-SeGF and PI-SeGE-22 cells continued to stably yield NNV in culture fluids at 10 to 10 median tissue culture infectious dose (TCID)/ml even after 30-50 subcultures.
