Airway management in the prone position presents significant challenges and carries the risk of encountering a difficult airway situation. Here, we present two adults who sustained traumatic knife injuries to the back and required surgical intervention. Due to the potential life-threatening complications associated with dislodging the knife, traditional supine and lateral decubitus positions were not feasible for airway management.

The perioperative surgical home (PSH) is a care delivery model designed to improve the perioperative and long-term outcomes of patients undergoing surgery by promoting holistic care and seamless cooperation between different services and subspecialties. An aging population and increased surgical complexity have led to renewed interest in PSH models. Purpose: Myasthenia-gravis and Guillain-Barre-syndrome are two of the most common causes of acute and reversible neuromuscular-respiratory-failure(ARNRF), both may worsen respiratory-failure and need for invasive-mechanical-ventilation(IMV) for long-periods due to muscle-weakness. However, approitive IMV-mode for ARNRF patients that better gas-exchange and weaning in ARNRF remain unclear.
Materials And Methods: Critically-ill-patiens with IMV due to ARNRF, who could meet the weaning-criterias (after intubation for more than 7-days; difficult-weaning), between 2013, and 2023 were included in the study.

Background: Given the prevalence of cardiovascular disease, encountering difficult airways in this patient population is quite common. The challenge for anesthesiologists lies not only in establishing the airway but also in managing the hemodynamic instability caused by sympathetic activation during intubation. The purpose of this report is to describe the anesthetic experience of this patient with severe mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, and moderate pulmonary hypertension with an anticipated difficult airway.
