The effects of dimephosphon on the models of inflammation which permitted the separation of the exudative and proliferative phases were studied on rats. The drug effect on the levels of histamine, serotonin and their precursors in blood of healthy rats was also investigated. Dimephosphon was found to exert no inhibitory influence on the proliferative reaction in contrast to the well-known non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The antihistamine activity of dimephosphon occurring on account of the intensification of histaminopexy was established. It is suggested that the antihistamine activity of dimephosphon should be used for therapeutic purposes.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is acute pulmonary inflammation with underlying pathology of disruption of the pulmonary vasculature endothelial and alveolar epithelial barriers. ALI is not an uncommon diagnosis and has a myriad of causes including pulmonary infection, (including sepsis), drugs, connective tissue disease, and polytrauma. In this case series of two patients, we discuss pachychoroid as a risk factor for predicting exudative retinal detachment (RD) after panretinal photocoagulation (PRP). The first patient was a 55-year-old diabetic male with unstable proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR), serous pigment epithelial detachment (PED), and pachychoroid confirmed via fluorescein angiography (FA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT), who underwent PRP. Post-PRP, the patient complained of visual loss in both eyes.
