The binuclear title compound, [Cu(2)(CH(3)CO(2))(4)(C(6)H(5)NO)], is located about a center of inversion. The Cu(II) atoms are connected [Cu-Cu = 2.6134 (5) Å] and bridged by four acetate ligands. Their distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry is completed by a terminal pyridine N atom of a 3-pyridincarboxaldehyde ligand. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional networks lying parallel to the ab plane. These networks are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving inversion-related 3-pyridinecarboxaldehyde ligands, forming a three dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

On the causal connection in lifespan correlations and the possible existence of a 'number of life' at molecular level.

Sci Rep

Multiple physiological traits correlates with lifespan, being unclear both the causal connection among them and with the process of ageing. In this paper, we show that six traits (such as metabolic rate, mass, heart rate, etc) acting at the system level, are all related to lifespan thru the existence of an approximately constant number of respiration cycles in a lifespan ([Formula: see text]), therefore, we find that those relationships are not independently related to ageing. In addition, we study if the approximately constant [Formula: see text] is possibly linked with the end-of-lifespan somatic mutation burden, another number recently found to be approximately constant (Cagan, Nature 604:517-524, 2022).

The aetiology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) are unknown and tend to manifest at a late stage in life; even though these neurodegenerative diseases are caused by different affected proteins, they are both characterized by neuroinflammation. Links between bacterial and viral infection and AD/PD has been suggested in several studies, however, few have attempted to establish a link between fungal infection and AD/PD. In this study we adopted a nanopore-based sequencing approach to characterise the presence or absence of fungal genera in both human brain tissue and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

DCLRE1B as a novel prognostic biomarker associated with immune infiltration: a pancancer analysis.

Sci Rep

Department of Orthopedics, The Second Affiliated hospital, Jiangxi Medical College, Nanchang University, Nanchang, 330006, Jiangxi Province, China.

The DNA cross-link repair 1B (DCLRE1B) gene is involved in repairing cross-links between DNA strands, including those associated with Hoyeraal-Hreidarsson syndrome and congenital dyskeratosis. However, its role in tumours is not well understood. DCLRE1B expression profiles were examined in tumour tissues and normal tissues using TCGA, GTEx, and TARGET datasets.

Untangling areas of improvement in secondary prevention of ischemic stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation.

Sci Rep

Health Services Research and Pharmacoepidemiology Unit, Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of Valencia Region (FISABIO), Avenida Cataluña, 21, 46020, Valencia, Spain.

Improvement of post-stroke outcomes relies on patient adherence and appropriate therapy maintenance by physicians. However, comprehensive evaluation of these factors is often overlooked. This study assesses secondary stroke prevention by differentiating patient adherence to antithrombotic treatments (ATT) from physician-initiated interruptions or switches.
