We aimed to summarise recent advances in the therapy of diabetic neuropathy. Although all therapeutic choices in the treatment of diabetes mellitus itself are based on clear pathophysiological basis, this approach is less present in the treatment of the "forgotten complication", diabetic neuropathy. As part of pathogenetic oriented treatment, the role of glycemic control and cardiovascular risk factors are reviewed. The mode of action of benfotiamine is based on inhibition of key alternative pathways, including the polyol, hexosamine, protein-kinase-C pathways, and inhibition of advanced glycation end products formation, just as on activation of transketolase. Alpha- lipoic-acid is considered as the most potent antioxidant. Other forms of pathogenetic oriented treatment, including actovegin, will be summarised. The anticonvulsants gabapentin and pregabalin, as well as the antidepressant duloxetine represent the most important new drugs among agents for symptomatic relief. Most likely, we should offer combination treatment to our patients much more often, first of all combination of pathogenetic and symptomatic drugs. Finally, the broad spectrum of non-pharmacological treatment will be reviewed.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical efficacy of antibiotic-loaded bone cement (ALBC) combined with Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) aspiration technique in the treatment of multidrug-resistant diabetic foot ulcers (MDRO-DFUs).
Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 80 patients with MDROs-DFU who were used Vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) as NPWT excipient and met the inclusion criteria from January 2019 to January 2024 at our hospital. Patients were divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 40 cases in each.

Background and objectives The persistent nature of diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) is mainly attributable to compromised wound healing mechanisms, which are aggravated due to poor blood flow, neuropathy, and infection. Growth factors have become essential agents in the treatment of DFUs, serving as primary mediators that enhance wound healing through the stimulation of cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis. This prospective open-label, randomised, comparative, multi-centre, investigator-initiated study compared the safety and effectiveness of adjuvant therapy with topical application of autologous growth factor concentrate (AGFC) using the Healrex therapy kit (Wockhardt, India) versus standard of care (SoC) in DFUs.

Research Design And Methods: This study consisted of two components: a 1-year observational outcome evaluation and a long-term simulation-based cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA). We conducted an observational study to analyze 2798 patients with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) enrolled in the program between June 2020 and June 2021 (DEFINITE Care group) and 5462 patients with DFUs from June 2016 to December 2017 as historical controls.

Introduction: This study aimed to explore type 2 diabetes mellitus patients' perspectives on diabetic foot complications and challenges of footcare management in Sigatoka, Fiji.
Methods: This study applied a qualitative approach among persons with diabetes who attended diabetic foot clinics from August to September 2021. Participants were selected through purposive sampling and included any self-identified Fijian aged 18 years and over who had type 2 diabetes with a minimum diagnosis duration of 6 months and no experience of an amputation.
