Unlabelled: Diabetes is a metabolic disorder associated with either improper functioning of the beta-cells or wherein cells fail to use insulin properly. Insulin, the principal hormone regulates uptake of glucose from the blood into most of the cells except central nervous system. Therefore, deficiency of insulin or the insensitivity of its receptors plays a key role in all forms of diabetes. In the present work, attempt has been made to find out plant sources which show anti hyperglycaemic activity (AhG) (i.e. compounds that bring down the blood glucose level in the body). Ayurvedic plants showing AhG activity formed the basis of our study by using the platform of Computer Aided Drug Designing (CADD). Among 600 plants showing AhG activity, 500 compounds were selected and screened, out of which 243 compounds showed drug likeness property that can be used as therapeutic ligand/drug. Initial screening of such compounds was done based on their drug likeness or biochemical properties. Dynamic interaction of these molecules was captured through Protein-Ligand study. It also gave an insight of the binding pockets involved. Bench marking of all the parameters were done using the diabetic inhibitor drug, Glipizide. Pharmacokinetic studies of the compounds such as Aloins, Capparisine, Funiculosin and Rhein exhibited less toxicity on various levels of the body. As a conclusion these ligands can lay a foundation for a better anti-diabetic therapy.

Sodium is one of the most important minerals in human blood. Sodium disorders, either in the form of hypernatremia or hyponatremia, have detrimental effects on the body; therefore, they warrant urgent attention. Hyponatremia occurs in various clinical scenarios; it can be further categorized as true hyponatremia and pseudohyponatremia.

Aims: To investigate glycaemic control in Chinese adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D) initiating, or switching to insulin degludec/insulin aspart (IDegAsp), a co-formulation of basal, and bolus insulin, in a real-world setting.

Materials And Methods: A 20-week, prospective, single-arm, open-label, non-interventional study was conducted in Chinese adults with T2D initiating, or switching to IDegAsp after anti-hyperglycaemic treatment with oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs), other insulins, or glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists. The primary endpoint was a change in HbA from baseline to end of the study; the secondary endpoints included a change in fasting plasma glucose and Diabetes Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaire (DTSQ) score.

It is well-established that chronic hyperglycemia progressively destroys the heart structure, weakening function and leading to diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Extracellular vesicles derived from adipose-derived stem cell (ADSC-EVs) have been reported to have anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating effects, but their role in DCM is still poorly understood. Therefore, this study investigated the impact of ADSC-EVs on DCM and potential mechanisms.

Type 2 Diabetes continues to be one of the major public health issues worldwide without any sustainable cure. The modulation of gut microbiota is believed to be caused by probiotic bacteria and several probiotic strains have previously shown antidiabetic activity. The present study aims to isolate potential probiotic bacteria from traditionally used fermented rice beer of Assam, India and to investigate its anti-hyperglycemic effect.
