The advent of biomacromolecules antagonizing vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has revolutionized the treatment of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). However, frequent intravitreal injections of these biomacromolecules impose an enormous burden on patients and create a massive workload for healthcare providers. This causes patients to abandon therapy, ultimately leading to progressive and irreversible vision loss.

Axon pathfinding is a highly dynamic process regulated by the interactions between cell-surface guidance receptors and guidance cues present in the extracellular environment. During development, precise axon pathfinding is crucial for the formation of functional neural circuits. The spatiotemporal expression of axon guidance receptors helps the navigating axon make correct decisions in a complex environment comprising both attractive and repulsive guidance cues.

Vesicular monoamine transporter 2 (VMAT2) is a proton-monoamine antiporter that is widely expressed in central and peripheral neurons and plays a crucial role in loading monoamine neurotransmitters into secretory vesicles. Dysfunction of VMAT2 causes many neuropsychiatric disorders, such as depression and Parkinson's disease. Consequently, VMAT2 is a valid and important therapeutic target.

Unlabelled: Although both Taurine Upregulated Gene 1(TUG1) and Human Antigen R (HuR) play significant regulatory roles in Cerebral Ischemic Reperfusion Injury (CIRI), their potential pro-angiogenesis mechanisms in CIRI remain unclear.
Methods: Herein, the biological roles of TUG1 and HuR in angiogenesis are first confirmed. Following that, HuR-binding VEGFA mRNAs are identified via the Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), RNA Immunoprecipitation (RIP), and Cross-Linking Immunoprecipitation (CLIP) assays.

Background: The loss of flavor in modern tomato cultivars represents a great challenge for the food industry. This study investigated the potential of power ultrasound as an innovative approach to improve tomato juice flavor by releasing bound volatiles.
Results: It was found that power ultrasound offered a more viable, environmentally friendly technique for enhancing the aroma of tomato juice compared with enzymatic or acid hydrolysis methods.
