An efficient route for the assembling of Ag nanoparticles (NPs) onto solution phase Ag(palmitate) bilayer structure has been developed. Two dimension (2D) arrays of Ag NPs on Ag(palmitate) were prepared by treating palmitate stabilized Ag NPs with the as-synthesized Ag(palmitate) or ribbon-shaped Ag(palmitate) templates. The interaction between long chain carboxylate surfactants of Ag NPs and the protruding aliphatic chains of the loosely packed self-assembled monolayer may play a role in directing the self-assembly of NPs in monolayer fashion. In addition, facile method to control morphology of Ag(carboxylates) from micro-flakes to micro-ribbons was also demonstrated.

Background: Glioma accounts for 80 % of all malignant primary brain tumors with a high mortality rate. Histopathological examination is the current diagnostic methods for glioma, but its invasive surgical interventions can cause cerebral edema or impair neural functioning. Liquid biopsy proves to be an efficient method for glioma detection.

Glioblastoma (GBM) persists as a highly fatal malignancy, with current clinical treatments showing minimal progress over years. Interstitial photodynamic therapy (iPDT) holds promise due to its minimally invasive nature and low toxicity but is impeded by poor photosensitizer penetration and inadequate GBM targeting. Here, we developed a biomimetic pure-drug nanomedicine (MM@CT), which co-assembles the photosensitizer chlorin e6 (Ce6) and the first-line chemotherapeutic drug (temozolomide, TMZ) for GBM, then camouflaged with macrophage membranes.

This study introduces an innovative electrochemical biosensor, engineered through the functionalization screen-printed electrode (SPE) with a coordination complex comprised of 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (4-MBA) and copper ions (Cu), achieving precise quantitative determination of glyphosate. Electrodepositing gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) onto the electrode surface, forming a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of 4-MBA via thiol-gold interactions, and immobilizing Cu via coordination bonding with the monolayer, finalizing the electrochemical biosensor construction as Cu/4-MBA/AuNPs/SPE. The successful modification of the biosensor interface is confirmed through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and electrochemical characterization.

This study aimed to evaluate the potential of pH-driven assembled soy peptide nanoparticle (SPN) to prepare high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) containing sweet orange essential oil (SOEO), and the effects of SPN concentration and oil phase fraction on the formation, stability and flavor release characteristics were investigated. Results showed that stable HIPEs with excellent self-supporting state were successfully fabricated at relative high SPN concentrations (0.5-3.

This study investigates the synthesis of ZnSnO@SiO@5-FU nanoparticles as an additive for bone fillers in dental maxillofacial reconstruction. ZnSnO nanoparticles were synthesized and coated with a SiO shell, followed by the incorporation of 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU), aimed at enhancing the therapeutic properties of classical fillers. Structural analysis using X-ray diffraction confirmed that ZnSnO was the single crystalline phase present, with its crystallinity preserved after both SiO coating and 5-FU incorporation.
