Background: The cognitive behavioural treatment for anger in adults with intellectual disabilities has received increasing interest. The current study aims to review the current literature and provide a meta-analysis.
Method: A literature search found 12 studies eligible for the quality appraisal. The studies examined cognitive behavioural treatment for anger in adults with intellectual disabilities published since 1999. Nine studies were eligible to be included in the meta-analysis.
Results: The meta-analysis revealed large uncontrolled effect sizes for the treatment for anger in adults with intellectual disabilities, but is viewed with caution due to low sample sizes. The narrative review showed improved methodological quality of the literature.
Conclusions: The emerging literature is encouraging. However, it is limited through concatenated data, a lack of comparative control groups and small study samples.

Hematology patients require central venous catheters for cancer treatment and nutrition, which increases their risk of intravascular device-associated bacteremia. In the absence of recent data, we investigated intravascular device-associated bacteremia in this specific context. A three-month surveillance was conducted annually in 27 hematology wards, using a protocol derived from the HAI-Net ICU ECDC protocol (2020-2024).

Introduction: MODY2 (maturity-onset diabetes of the young type 2, MIM125851) is a monogenic diabetes with an autosomal dominant transmission caused by a variant of the gene. MODY2 is often confused with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, but despite a slightly elevated blood glucose level, it does not induce long-term vascular complications, nor does it require pharmacological treatment. Genetic testing for the diagnosis of MODY2 is currently reserved for genetic specialists and some physicians.

This study employs electroencephalography (EEG) to assess the efficacy of a person-centered communication intervention in the context of dementia care. Seventy-seven individuals in the early stage of dementia, attending day care centers, were divided into experimental and control groups following a non-equivalence control design. The communication intervention consisted of 30 minutes of semi-structured, topic-specific in-person interactions, incorporating elements of self-introduction, rapport-building, emotional exploration, reminiscence, and cognitive stimulation.
