Bullet embolism to the heart is a rare complication of gunshot trauma to the body and if not identified can have a severe impact on a patient's morbidity and mortality. This paper presents the case of a patient who sustained a shotgun wound to the leg 10 years prior to presenting with shortness of breath and localised chest pain. Routine chest radiograph for possible chest infection was reported normal apart from a small metallic artefact overlying the left side of the heart, which had the same appearance as the pellets from the gunshot wound in the leg. Following referral to our cardiothoracic surgeons, further investigations confirmed the presence of a pellet within the patient's right ventricle, which had embolised from the original injury site. The case was discussed globally to decide on the best management plan. To date, the patient has been successfully managed conservatively, with regular follow-up.

Introduction: The lack of standardization in the assessment of healing potential of diaphyseal tibial fractures in the early stages of treatment leads to late diagnosis of non-union, which requires the development of prognostic diagnostic criteria that take into account possible risk factors.
Objective: To analyze and evaluate the available scoring systems for predicting union and non-union of diaphyseal tibial fractures.
Methods: We searched for publications in Scopus (Elsevier), PubMed, Publons, Medline, RSCI, Google, and Google Scholar databases.
"Wound, Pressure Ulcer, and Burn Guidelines-5: Guidelines for the management of lower leg ulcers and varicose veins, second edition" is revised from the first edition, which was published in the Japanese Journal of Dermatology in 2011. The guidelines were drafted by the Wound, Pressure Ulcer, and Burn Guidelines Drafting Committee delegated by the Japanese Dermatological Association and intend to facilitate physicians' clinical decisions in preventing, diagnosing and management of lower leg ulcers and varicose veins. We updated all sections by collecting documents published since the publication of the first edition.

Purpose: To investigate the association between common measures of trunk and lower extremity range of motion (ROM), strength, the results of one-leg jump tests at baseline and the incidence of subsequent substantial knee injuries in adolescent female football players.
Methods: Players were assessed at baseline regarding (1) ROM of trunk, hip, and ankle; (2) trunk, hip, and knee strength; and (3) one-leg jump tests. Players were prospectively monitored weekly for 1 year regarding knee injuries and the volume of matches and training.

This study retrospectively analyzed the real-world performance of porcine placental extracellular matrix (PPECM; InnovaMatrix® AC, Convatec Triad Life Sciences, LLC, Memphis, TN, USA), a novel cellular, acellular, and matrix-like product for the management of hard-to-heal wounds. The US Wound Registry (USWR), which comprises aggregated and structured electronic health records from 502 wound practices, provided a deidentified dataset collected from October 10, 2022 to March 25, 2024, containing 76,278 patients (248,278 wounds).
