Since the discovery of the myc gene, few genes are likely to have such influence on biomedical research. The diversity of the biological functions regulated by this transcription factor and its impact in human health have attracted investigators from many different fields. The development of conditional knockout mouse models has allowed for the characterization of Myc-driven molecular mechanisms in primary cells in physiological and pathological conditions. In this review, we discuss some of the main functions and recent findings regarding c-Myc in in vivo B lymphocyte differentiation from early progenitors to terminally differentiated cells.

Gastric cancer (GC) remains a significant global health challenge. This study aimed to comprehensively analyze GC epidemiology and risk factors to inform prevention and intervention strategies. We analyzed the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 data, conducted 16 different machine learning (ML) models of NHANES data, performed Mendelian randomization (MR) studies on disease phenotypes, dietary preferences, microbiome, blood-based markers, and integrated differential gene expression and expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) data from multiple cohorts to identify factors associated with GC risk.

Background: The involvement of inflammation in the start and advancement of atherosclerotic plaques in acute coronary syndrome has been clarified. White blood cell count and its differential are key inflammatory markers in cardiovascular disease, with the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) emerging as a marker of inflammation and a predictor of mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome. The study aims to investigate the utility of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio and other complete blood count parameters as a risk stratification tool and independent predictor of Global Registry for Acute Coronary Events (GRACE) risk score in Non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS).

Background: Intratumor-resident bacteria represent an integral component of the tumor microenvironment (TME). Microbial dysbiosis, which refers to an imbalance in the bacterial composition and bacterial metabolic activities, plays an important role in regulating breast cancer development and progression. However, the impact of specific intratumor-resident bacteria on tumor progression and their underlying mechanisms remain elusive.

Background: Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis (anti-NMDARE) is a prevalent type of autoimmune encephalitis caused by antibodies targeting the NMDAR's GluN1 subunit. While significant progress has been made in elucidating the pathophysiology of autoimmune diseases, the immunological mechanisms underlying anti-NMDARE remain elusive. This study aimed to characterize immune cell interactions and dysregulation in anti-NMDARE by leveraging single-cell multi-omics sequencing technologies.
