Herein a case is described of a 54-years old patient, HIV negative, with cerebro-vascular disease by basilar artery thrombosis secondary to meningovascular neurosyphilis. Neurosyphilis is the impairment at any stage of the central nervous system by Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum and includes asymptomatic and symptomatic forms of infection. The presentation can take many forms, depending on the location and extent of tissue damage. The currently recommended treatment is crystalline penicillin, 4 million units every 4 hours for 14 days.

Purpose: To describe a case in which a right replaced posterior cerebral artery (PCA) was associated with an ipsilateral superior cerebellar artery (SCA) type persistent trigeminal artery (PTA) variant.
Methods: A 53-year-old man who had been diagnosed with chronic dissection of the left vertebral artery (VA) 4 months previously underwent follow-up magnetic resonance (MR) angiography using a 3-Tesla scanner.
Results: MR angiography showed a slightly dilated left VA at the terminal segment without interval change.

Hibernation is accompanied by dramatic decrease of blood flow in many organs due to the increase of their vascular resistances. We compared the responses of mesenteric, renal, and cerebral proximal resistance arteries in summer active (SA) and winter hibernating (WH) ground squirrels and studied the signaling pathways of Rho-kinase and NO. Wire myography and Western blotting were used to assess the arterial responses and protein abundances.

The cerebral arterial circle morphologic variability has been extensively studied. The posterior cerebral artery (PCA) variants are rarely identified, except from the first segment (P1) hypoplasia or absence. Due to its unique morphology, the computed tomography angiography (CTA) of a 34-year-old female patient was further investigated.

Introduction: Branch atheromatous disease (BAD) is prone to early neurological deterioration (END), leading to a poor prognosis. The most common arteries causing END are the lenticulostriate arteries (LSA) and the paramedian pontine arteries (PPA). To gain insight into the characteristics of symptomatic plaques and their association with poor prognosis in patients with BAD, we conducted a prospective study using high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (HRMRI).
