In recent years, psychological studies have increasingly come to support the so-called "Big Five" or "Five-factor Model" (FFM) of human personality. However, the vast majority of research in this field has been undertaken in Western contexts, thus raising the question of how applicable the Big Five is to Asian populations. Moreover, nearly all research into the Big Five has relied on traditional techniques of statistical analysis (e.g., factor analysis, correlation) to validate their results, despite the limitations of such methods. This study examined instrument validation of a widely-used Big Five instrument (the Factor Markers questionnaire) given to a Japanese population (n = 283) by using the Rasch rating scale model (Andrich, 1978). Rasch principal components analysis of the item residuals indicated the possible existence of additional factors within the Intellect/Imagination and Agreeableness factors, as well as additional item fit problems within each hypothesized construct.

Introduction: Information disclosure is important in promoting unsafe food recalls and reducing potential food safety risks. However, the governance of unsafe food recall information in China is distorted, leading to cognitive dissonance in Chinese consumers' perceptions of unsafe food recall information. Focusing on consumers' search and cognitive costs, this study suggests that market regulators should proactively and fully disclose unsafe food recall information to satisfy consumers' needs and preferences for recall information, thereby optimizing consumer perceptions and facilitating the improvement of the information governance system for unsafe food recalls.

Objective: This study aimed to elucidate the hand function recovery capacity of Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM) patients with different severities of hand dexterity impairment.
Methods: Hand functional outcome measures such as the 10s-G&R test, modified Japanese Orthopedic Association (mJOA) upper extremity score and Japanese Orthopaedic Association Cervical Myelopathy Evaluation Questionnaire (JOACMEQ) Upper Extremity Function were collected before surgery and at the 1-year follow-up. A total of 102 DCM patients were categorized into Mild, Moderate and Severe group based on the preoperative 10s-G&R test result.

Background Ninjin'yoeito (NYT), a traditional Japanese Kampo medicine, has shown potential in treating frailty and overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms. However, its effects are multifaceted and vary among individuals. This pilot study explored the use of topological data analysis (TDA) and natural language processing (NLP) to evaluate the effect of NYT on frailty in patients with OAB.
