Osteocalcin is the most important noncollagenous protein component of the bone. Polymorphisms of osteocalcin gene were reported to be associated with bone mineral density. However, this relation was only confirmed in some populations. In this study presence of C/T polymorphism in osteocalcin gene (rs1800247) was determined in Kashubian population (northern Poland). The frequencies of variants were CC 9 %, TC 31 %, and TT 60 %, with no significant differences between genders. The genotypes were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.

This study examines the effects of pulsed wave photobiomodulation (pwPBM) on the osteogenic differentiation of stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAP). Using 810 nm near-infrared (NIR) light with 300 Hz pulses and a 30% duty cycle, pwPBM was applied at a total energy density of 750 mJ/cm. Osteogenesis was evaluated through both in vitro and in vivo analyses.

Background/purpose: Titanium dioxide nanotube (TNT) structures have been shown to enhance the early osseointegration of dental implants. Nevertheless, the optimal nanotube diameter for promoting osteogenesis remains unclear due to variations in cell types and manufacture of nanotubes. This study aimed to evaluate the differences in MC3T3-E1 and Saos-2 cells behavior on nanotubes of varying diameters.

Purpose: This pilot study investigated the effect of surface roughness on osseointegration by comparing two types of commercial SLA-treated dental implants with different surface roughness levels: moderately rough (S = 1 - 2 µm) and rough surfaces (S > 2 µm).
Materials And Methods: Two implant groups were studied: TS (rough surface) and ADD (moderately rough surface) groups. Surface characteristics were analyzed using optical profilometry and SEM.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Type 2 diabetic osteoporosis (T2DOP) is a metabolic bone disease characterized by impaired bone structure and decreased bone strength in diabetic patients. Jiangu Decoction (JGD), a traditional Chinese poly-herbal formulation, has shown efficacy in mitigating osteoporosis (OP) and fractures caused by osteoporosis in diabetic patients in clinical trials. In addition, JGD has been proven to promote the proliferation of osteoblasts.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of nanoparticulate CaCO (NPCC) on the biological properties of calcium silicate-based cements (CSCs), including their cytotoxicity, in vitro osteogenic activity, and interactions with rat femur tissue. The average size of NPCC was 90.3±26.
