Objective: Tremors are caused by contractions of reciprocally innervated muscles. The role of ultrasound in diagnosing tremors has not yet been investigated, although it appears to be promising because it can visualize muscle movements. In the present study, we report four cases of tremor (Holmes' tremor, extremity tremor associated with palatal myoclonus, dystonic tremor, and tremor associated with dystonia), which were evaluated using ultrasound and treated with botulinum toxin injections.

Background: Direct measurement of portal venous pressure (PVP) is invasive, so the hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) is commonly measured to evaluate portal hypertension (PH). HVPG is the gold standard for estimating PVP but few reports have covered standardized measurement techniques.
Methods: This study validated standardized techniques for PVP measurement.

Rationale: Lumbar 5 (L5) selective nerve root block is a common treatment for lumbar 4/5 disc herniation. It is difficult to perform real-time ultrasound-guided targeted L5 nerve root block because of the deep structure of the L5/S1 intervertebral foramen and the occlusion of the sacrum and ilium. Therefore, the safe and efficient implementation of L5 nerve root block is very important for improving the clinical promotion and use of this procedure.

Background: Esophageal schwannoma is an extremely rare esophageal submucosal tumor. We report a case of a hybrid surgery for a large esophageal schwannoma that had extended from the cervical to the upper thoracic esophagus by using thoracoscopic and cervical approaches.
Case Presentation: A 58-year-old male was referred to our hospital for further examination and treatment of dysphagia and weight loss over the past 6 months.
