The present work aims at understanding the structural stability of Cadmium oxide (CdO) nano-particles of different sizes due to its potential application in the field of optoelectronics and gas sensing. The stable structures of the (CdO)(n) (n=1-8) have been fully optimized with Gaussian 03W program package at B3LYP/6-31G level, and it is found that, for n=1-5, the ring structures is more stable, and for n>5, the three-dimensional structures is more stable than the ring structure. But the stable ring geometries for n>9 are found to be difficult, because the ring structures become more complicated. The present calculation also shows that, with the growth of the clusters, 3D structures are more favorable in energy, and the Cd and O atom tend to adopt higher coordination numbers. Moreover, the simulated IR spectra help to distinguish the ring structures from the cubic or hexagonal packing structures.

The demand for insulating materials with superior dielectric properties has increased. Among these materials, polymers containing cyclic structure including cyclic olefin copolymer (COC) and cyclic olefin polymer (COP) stand out because of their excellent dielectric properties originating from the pure hydrocarbon structure. Introducing fluorine into polymers is one efficient strategy for optimizing the dielectric and the related important properties.

Three new sodium manganese fluoro-pyrophosphate compounds, namely, NaMn(PO)F (I), NaMn(PO)F (II), and NaMn(PO)F (III), have been synthesized by heating a mixture of NaPF, NaPOF or NaHPO with different Mn sources in NaNO and KNO fluxes. The structures of the title compounds were characterized single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). II is characteristic of a shell of Na ions that encloses one [Mn(PO)F] unit, whereas I and III reveal three-dimensional (3D) frameworks that consist of MnO, Mn/NaOF octahedra or MnO octahedra and distorted MnO square pyramids with PO units, where Na cations reside in different-membered ring one-dimensional (1D) tunnels.

DNP (3,4-dinitropyrazole) has attracted much interest due to its promising melting characteristics and high detonation performances, such as low melting point, high density, high detonation velocity, and low sensitivity. In this work, first-principles molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were performed to investigate the anisotropic shock response of DNP in conjunction with the multiscale shock technique (MSST). The initial decomposition mechanism was revealed through the evolution of the chemical reaction and product analysis.

Algebraic structures play a vital role in securing important data. These structures are utilized to construct the non-linear components of block ciphers. Since constructing non-linear components through algebraic structures is crucial for the confusion aspects of encryption schemes, relying solely on these structures can result in limited key spaces.
