Objective: To establish a simple, rapid and usable new method of processing on Rhei Radix Et Rhizoma and the quality control standard on its processing products.

Methods: The studies of processing on Rhei Radix Et Rhizoma were proceed using yellow rice wine as solvent, through spray, soften and dry at 60-70 degrees C. The contents of total and uncombined chrysophanol and emodin in multi-Rhei Radix Et Rhizoma and its processing products were determined by HPLC.

Results: The new method of processing on Rhei Radix Et Rhizoma was simple, rapid and usable. The contents of uncombined chrysophanol and emodin in its processing products was 80%.

Conclusion: This study provides a new method of processing on Rhei Radix Et Rhizoma and quality control standard on its processing products.

This study established a H-NMR-based biochemometric approach for the isolation of biologically active compounds from complex extracts. In both pharmacognosy and natural product chemistry, reliably isolating bioactive compounds typically necessitates repeating time-consuming and laborious isolation and purification steps, presenting a bottleneck in many studies. We applied biochemometric methods to accurately estimate active compounds, thus minimizing the number of assays and isolation steps.

Background: Abnormal tumor blood vessels can significantly promote the malignant progression of tumors, prompting researchers to focus on drugs that normalize these vessels for clinical treatment. The combination of the Qi-tonifying drug Astragali Radix and the blood-activating drug Curcumae Rhizoma, referred to as AC, exhibited significant anti-tumor metastasis effects. However, the association between the anti-tumor metastasis effect of AC and its potential role in regulating tumor vascular remodeling warrants further exploration.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a recurrent inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, for which available treatment drugs are severely limited. Natural polysaccharides show potential for UC prevention. Herein, we extracted TCP80-1, a polysaccharide with significant anti-ulcerative colitis (UC) activity, from Tupistra chinensis Baker for the first time.

The fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is an insect pest that severely affects agricultural crops worldwide. This species can generally be controlled using synthetic insecticides, but these insecticides can cause several adverse effects. Therefore, many people prefer to utilize plant-based insecticides, especially plant essential oils, as alternatives for managing insect pests.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Shinhyotaklisan (SHTLS) is a time-honored traditional Korean herbal formula composed of four key herbs: Lonicerae Flos, Astragali Radix, Angelicae Gigantis Radix, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. It has been extensively used to treat inflammatory diseases by expelling excessive heat, detoxifying the body, and promoting the drainage of pus from abscesses.

Aim Of The Study: This study examines the therapeutic effects of SHTLS and elucidates its mechanisms of action in alleviating lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammation in vitro.
