Background/objectives: Growing evidence suggests that the gut-brain axis influences brain function, particularly the role of intestinal microbiota in modulating cognitive processes. Probiotics may alter brain function and behavior by modulating gut microbiota, with implications for neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease (AD). The purpose of this review is to systematically review the current literature exploring the effects of probiotic supplementation on gut microbiota and cognitive function in AD and mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

Statement Of Problem: Acrylic denture base resins are subject to colonization by oral and nonoral bacteria, contributing to the onset of denture stomatitis. However, how the addition of antimicrobial substances affects the mechanical and optical properties of additively manufactured denture base resin remains unclear.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the surface roughness, color stainability, and flexural strength of antimicrobial-modified, additively manufactured polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) denture base resin in tooth and gingiva colors.

Introduction: Fetal scalp blood sampling (FSBS) can be used as an adjunctive test, in the presence of a pathological intrapartum fetal heart rate trace, to provide evidence of fetal acidaemia. The role of FSBS remains controversial, this study evaluates the diagnostic accuracy of FSBS at determining various adverse neonatal outcomes.
Method: A retrospective cohort analysis of FSBS undertaken < 1 h from birth in a single UK centre in 2016 and 2017.

Part-time clinical nurse instructors teach students in many nursing schools in the United States. They are often unprepared for this role and require instruction in teaching methods. We developed and evaluated an online orientation program to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for nurses to become confident clinical instructors.

Neuroimmunometabolism describes how neuroimmune cells, such as microglia, adapt their intracellular metabolic pathways to alter their immune functions in the CNS. Emerging evidence indicates that neurons also orchestrate the microglia mediated immune response through neuro-immune crosstalk perhaps through metabolic signalling. However, little is known about how the brain's metabolic microenvironment and microglial intracellular metabolism orchestrate the neuroimmune response in healthy and diseased brains.
